NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
The Village was a very entertaining show with great promise for a season 2. The Networks dont want anything anymore but singing competitions! Boring! Hopefully Netflix picks up the Village!
Loved The Village !!! I am so disappointed that NBC cancelled a great show about people sharing life together !!! I hope NBC will reconsider, or that Netflix will pick up this show !
Thank you.
I am not watching anymore freshman shows on NBC. The Village and The Enemy Within were to Great fast moving shows!
The Village was an AWESOME show! Shame on NBC for canceling!!
The Village is one of the best shows on TV right now. Please bring it back or please let another Network pick it up. This show does not deserve to be cancelled.
First The Enemy Within, now The Village ? What’s wrong with you guys? Two great shows that actually told a story, and you cancel them while renewing mindless pablum? Very disappointing, NBC, very disappointing. Shameful. Hope another network or NetFlix has more good sense than you’ve shown and picks them up.
Great show and cast. Hope another channel or Nexflix picks up. Will miss the Village. It had a real story to it and was real.
I am so disappointed NBC cancelled the show The Village. Such a great show, cast and story. It actually was my favorite show on TV. They don’t make good ones like this drama anymore. NBC please give it a chance and start it up in the Fall. If not, hopefully some other network will pick it up. Definitely going to miss this show. Why do they cancell the best shows. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!
I am very disappointed that the village has been canceled. I looked forward to every episode and enjoyed the program very much. When there is so much junk on television nowadays it was refreshing to have a believable storyline and excellent actors to bring it to the audience. Shame, shame, shame.
I loved this ship and I’m so sad and really disappointed that their is not going to be a Season 2 🙁
Our veterans deserve shows that make people aware of their post-war lives in ways that are not depressing graphic documentaries, but rather simple stories of people sharing life. This show fulfilled that need handily. The cast was stellar. And it was about many other things as well. And I think it reflected NYC in a truer way than all these shows about über rich tycoons and their bored snotty families. Most people are not those people. They resemble the people in the show The Village much more. Or else we wish we lived in that world where neighbors form a… Read more »
Best show of the season!
I guess this is the wave of future television. Let’s continue to keep stupid reality shows on and get rid of the drama series.
Love this show, so sad it was cancelled. So much crap on TV, this is one decent show w/great acting. Boo to you
No!! Why do they cancel shows that have actual substance. Try canceling the crappy reality shows instead. I understand it’s all about viewers, but I’m extremely dissapointed.
