NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

To me The Village was as good as This is us. It is a mistake to cancel it. You need another season for it to gain more popularity. I am no relation to Kay Lindquist.

Sadly both nbc and abc do not care about viewers -just live ratings. Dvr+7 numbers were up for The Village AND super high for WhiskeyCavalier, the latter So much that abc thought it over. In the end networks don’t care about their viewers jut their advertisers.
I totally agree Scott. Love both the Village and Whiskey Cavalier. Looked forward to watching them every week. So tired of getting attached to a show only to have it canceled after one season. Really hope they reconsider
Im sooo upset that they are canceling the Village.I really enjoyed that show.They left everthing in a cliff hanger and thats just not right.I really think they should give the show another season.Please Please put it back on.
Who makes these decisions at NBC? I’m confused. Over 4 million people are watching this show every week AND it has a 7.4 score on IMDB , 9.65 score on tvseriesfinale.com. That makes no sense. This show shines a spotlight on the strength and the struggles of our nation’s service members and they show veterans a way forward at a time when veteran suicide statistics clearly prove that we have a long way to go in caring for our troops. Two more quality shows bite the dust. They give up on these shows way to quick. It doesn’t say much for leadership at NBC or the viewers who’d rather watch reality shows, frivolous sitcoms, or crappy shallow dramas. It’s a disturbing trend with no end in sight.
I had a feeling this one wasn’t going to last. It was great to see Dominic Chianese for a while though. Lorraine and Frankie were amazing too. The rest of the cast/storylines unfortunately were not as good.
The Village is one of the best shows on TV. Such a disappointment that it’s going off.
Every time I like a show you cancel it, but you keep the stupid ones. I can’t believe you cancelled it very good .
So very disappointed that NBC decided to cancel The Village! It is such a great show with fantastic actors! It dealt with issues that are current to our society. But they only want to keep putting on these stupid singing and game shows. This Is Us has become so boring with the whining 3 adult brats! So we are done with NBC. Actually considering getting rid of cable since no good shows are on! I think just going to Apple TV.
Loved The Village !!! I was so disappointed that NBC cancelled this great show about people sharing life together, and actually caring about each other !!! I hope NBC will reconsider, or that Netflix will pick up The Village !

I have officially given up on NBC if they can cancel such a great show like the Village,, they need new executives that have made this decision. It was one of the best new shows and I am sure another station like CBS or another station will definitely pick it up. Bad move NBC , bring it back soon .
