NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

LOVED the new series! There are very few TV shows worth watching, so I’ve been impatiently waiting for the new season to begin. Needless to say, I am indeed very disappointed to learn THE VILLAGE has been cancelled!
This was one of THE BEST new series on T.V. We loved it and all of the actors are amazing! It had a mix of everything and something everyone could relate to! Such a shame that some of the really good ones (The Village being one of them) are never picked up for a second season! Please rethink this and bring it back!!!!
I have been waiting for the Village to come back ever since the first season ended. Just saw that it was cancelled and I was totally shocked. I loved the show. Sad that it was never really given a chance to see where else it could go. One season just wawasn’t nough. It needs to be brought back. Shame on you

Our family has been waiting for The Village to come back on! Cannot believe NBC cancelled it. No wonder CBS is better.

This is ********. It was a great show. Maybe the dumb people at the network should take polls or something before canceling a show that reached so many demographics.
Such crap they canceled such an amazing show! Why cancel the food shows and bring back crap like Rosanne?!? So lame!
I get really tired of these types of shows getting cancelled. They give us a chance to see something meaningful and let’s us realize that when things are tough , we can count on friends and community to get us through. But , no let’s just cancel these shows and stick with the really stupid, and goofy sitcoms

I loved The Village! The cast and the story lines were great. I was looking forward to season 2.
I am so sad that The Village got canceled for a second season.. This was such a great heart warming show, it showed how close a neighborhood could become a family so close, look after each other. No violence, just caring & loving towards each other. This makes me sad. I would look so forward to watching this show. Too many new shows “good” got canceled after the first season..
I’m so truly disappointed. This was the best caring show. We need this kind of show in our society now.
