NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

I am so disappointed that The Village was cancelled. It was everyday life situations for many people to relate to. I was so looking forward to Season 2. I hope someone will reconsider bringing it back. It did not have a fair chance with only 1 season.
I and many of my friends and relatives loved The Village and couldn’t wait for season two. It is a shame that there won’t be a season two.
I absolutely LOVED The Village! It’s a melting pot in an apartment building & it shows love, compassion & respect for our fellow human beings! I sincerely hope that some other station or service picks it up!

Sad to see this program cancelled. Wish it could be picked up by someone. Did not really get a chance with only 10 episodes.

What an absolute shame that this great show was cancelled! Finally something so different from the same old series that are on t.v now. It was so refreshing and enjoyable to watch these great actors in such an interesting story line. Such a heartfelt and down to earth show. I am so disappointed to hear of this decision. I sure hope that they will reconsider.

I think it was a poor judgement call to cancel The Village. Finally, a diverse program that covered so much. A Veteran, a single mother, illegal aliens. It did feel like they were a tight knit community, even though it was a program.
Truly a shame that this show was not renewed. Good writing, good stories, good acting. Really a pity, since we pay for 2000 channels of garbage, this was a welcomed chang from the usual formulaic nonsense. Someone should pick it up.
That is so sad. So many great shows never get a real chance. Loved this show.
