NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

The Village was well written and every week we learned something new about each character until we felt like they were part of our family. The story lines were well constructed so my interest continued and I couldn’t wait until the next episode. Would rather see some of the “too many” reality shows gone as well as some of the “housewife” series. Keep “The Village” alive and well. Renew for another season.
I replied above about my disappointment that The Village has been cancelled – really one of my favorite shows. I just watched the final episode (had DVD’d it but was saving it) and am once again just outraged nbc won’t give this a chance and renew it for just one more full year, just give this a chance – please! I can’t believe it was cancelled! I enjoyed watching it. BRING IT BACK!!
A bit disappointed as I watched most of the first season, but I can sorta understand the cancellation as it sometimes felt like a choir to watch.
The village was so interesting i loved it personally i think it needs to come back on
I love this show! It is my favorite. Please don’t cancel! The village is one of the best. Please reconsider! It seems to have everything with what’s going on in our world today.

So disappointed that The Village was cancelled. Seems like the only thing networks want to air are singing contests and dim-whitted bachelor/bachelorette shows. UGH.

I think that the decision to cancel this great show was a terrible mistake. I just do not understand why the networks does this. NBC is not the only network to cancel a great show. What is the point in introducing new shows of after the first season they are going to cancel them . They are always talking about ratings but what the networks failed to realize it that some people record the shows or like me watch them on Hulu. & sometimes wait to watch —Why ???
If the network is ultimately going to cancel -why should I even get involved ?!?!
In the Village’s cast I got hooked on it …

I loved The Village and am very disappointed it was cancelled. It wasn’t given the credit and consideration it deserved. It was barely advertised before launching. I just fell into it because I watch The Voice and initially it came on after the Voice so I gave it a shot. The time slot changed to before The Voice & that made no difference to me. I would have watched at either slot. From the first episode to the last it was great. Sad to see it wasn’t given a chance.
The Village was one of the best NBC shows this 2019 season. Why cancel a great drama. Try cancelling the reality genra crap!!!!
PLEASE PLEASE reconsider…. bring it back with same people.
The Village is a great show that deserves a second season. It touched on all different aspects of life and current issues in the world but in a wholesome less violent way. NBC Please don’t cancel “The Village”!
