Peter Serafinowicz is set to star in The Tick TV series reboot, for Amazon. As with the 2001 version of The Tick, which was cancelled by FOX in early 2002, after eight episodes aired, the new live-action series is based on Ben Edlund’s superhero comics of the same name.
Writer Edlund will executive produce along with Barry Josephson. Wally Pfister is set to direct. Griffin Newman and Valorie Curry have also been cast. Sony Pictures TV is the studio.
Deadline says, “In the new incarnation, the blue-suited Tick is recovering from a memory loss and ends up reteaming with his sidekick Arthur (Griffin Newman) to fight evil. The two are surrounded by a new host of characters that include Arthur’s sister Dot (Valorie Curry).”
