Would the life of police officer Allison McLean get a little less hectic in season two of the Ties The Bind TV show? We’ll never know. UP has cancelled the drama after one season of 10 episodes.
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, played by Kelli Williams. Like most working women, Allison McLean’s hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis). She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. The rest of the cast includes Matreya Scarrwener, Rhys Matthew Bond, Lucia Walters, and Aaron Craven.
The series debuted in August 2015 and the 10 episodes finished airing in October. The cable channel was apparently considering ordering a second season but earlier this year, they decided not to do so. A message on the show’s Facebook page notes:
After thoughtful consideration, UP has decided to not renew “Ties That Bind.” The decision was not made lightly as we appreciate our passionate viewers who were not ready for the story to end. We want to thank the cast and crew for their tremendous dedication. Your commitment to this series was extraordinary.
What do you think? Did you enjoy this cop drama? Should it have been cancelled? Would you have watched a second season of Ties That Bind on UP?
It is crazy to get your viewers watching a show and loving it then cancel after one season. Even worse to leave it the way you did. I loved the show and would absolutely watch a second season. However I will not be able to… Clearly you were not thinking of your viewers.
We always have liked Kelli Williams. Just discovered this show on Prime and so disappointed it didn;t make it.
I loved this series. Went crazy when it ended like it did the Rhys Bond character ran away….left us hanging…He is a great actor and has that “it” factor. All actors were perfectly cast. Try to start it up again where you left off..its not too late.
This was a very good show. The actors were terrific! The story lines were great. Why would you cancel a show that was so good. Obviously I just watched because it just became available on Amazon Prime Video. I am sad to never know what happened to Rhys Mathew Bond. I hope the actors know what a great following they have.
Im upset that this was cancelled. This is a good family show and shows that our Police officers do a great job. Guess that’s why the WOKE left cancels shows like this. Please reconsider. How can you stop when you leave us all on a cliffhanger.
I think it is downright cruel to cancel on a cliffhanger of such a GREAT show. It seems only shows that have extreme cruelty in it and shows that make police look bad are ones that any network will continue. I’m very sad and upset by this decision. Please reconsider! It’s the least you can do!
I can’t believe that this amazing show is not continuing. It is real life drama that shows true real to life problems with great action and the actors can act!!
But it also is clean. no cussing
That’s sad that this show ends on a cliffhanger and choosing not to continue doesn’t make senseless
I am sorry to hear you had cancelled this series without a comment. It was a excellent program. Sorry you decided to cancel. I feel it could have been a great one to keep. This is what happens to great movies.
Please bring this show back!!!!
After reading your article, I am extremely sad to hear that UP has decided not to renew Ties that bind…Wonderful show on true MORALS that our Country needs ….
It definitely should have had a second season! Can’t imagine what the executives were thinking when they decided to cancel this show!
We loved that show!!!! Bring it back. Please..
I would love to see season 2 and further episodes. It teaches valuable lessons.
This was an EXCELLENT show! Appreciated the clean language & great plots! GREAT ACTING! BAD decision to cancel! PLEASE RECONSIDER!!
I just watched the series. So sad they cancelled season 2. Bad decisions. Please consider bringing it back. Or at least have a final show to conclude.
