Timeless has been in the news quite a bit recently. First, NBC renewed the TV series for a second season only after cancelling it. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has quietly settled a lawsuit with Spanish media company Onza Entertainment.
The action-adventure drama follows a history professor, a soldier, and a scientist as they travel through time to stop a mysterious criminal. The cast includes Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Visnjic, and Paterson Joseph.
Last September, Onza Entertainment sued NBC, claiming Timeless “was “ripped off” from Spanish drama El Ministerio del Tiempo (The Department of Time). Later, NBC and production company Sony fired back, saying the time-travel genre lends itself to overlap.
Now, it appears the lawsuit has been settled, with both parties filing a joint motion for dismissal earlier this week.

I was very excited when it came out that there had been a reversal on their decision. And very grateful that the powers that be were able to come together to make this happen. I think they will be, too, later. I can’t wait for season 2. i know it’s going to be awesome!

I had wondered if the lawsuit was woven into the decision in any way. Regardless, the outcome is wonderful !! SO looking forward to Season 2 of Timeless !!

I am glad they listened to those of us who protested the cancellation. It is good for the show to come back for Season 2 and a chance to gain more viewers. I’m happy.

I was upset that it was cancelled I’m glad it’s renewed I just wish networks would realize that we watch these shows a very different way then back in the 90’s we have hulu Netflix iTunes an more so cutting a show because of bad ratings is a poor method to base how well a show is received an wether to keep it or not.
Both happy and surprised that Timeless was renewed. Matt Lanter was correct in saying that the popularity of the show has more to do with how the characters relate to one another than the time travel stories. Look how bad “Time After Time” was compared to Timeless.
I liked Time After Time, too, but I love me some Freddie Stroma also. I am so happy that Timeless will be back. I agree……all three of the characters have such excellent chemistry with each other.
