Tommy won’t be back on patrol next season. CBS just announced that the network has cancelled the cop drama and won’t be ordering a second season for the 2020-21 broadcast season.
The Tommy series revolves around a former high-ranking NYPD officer who becomes the first female chief of police for Los Angeles. Abigail “Tommy” Thomas (Edie Falco) uses unflinching honesty and hardball tactics to keep social, political, and national security issues from hindering effective law enforcement in the Southland. The CBS drama also stars Michael Chernus, Adelaide Clemens, Thomas Sadoski, Russell G. Jones, Olivia Lucy Phillip, Joseph Lyle Taylor, and Vladimir Caamaño.
Airing on Thursday nights, the first season of Tommy averages a 0.49 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.85 million viewers. The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the drama is the network’s lowest-rated scripted series.
The 12th and final installment of Tommy airs tomorrow night.

We really enjoyed this show and we’re sad it wasn’t renewed. Hoping another channel will pick it up.
Fell in love with the characters and the chemistry they had. Mid season replacement position is so tough but it should have been given a chance

I am so sad to see this show go. I watched every episode and really enjoyed it and looked forward for the next one every time. Please bring it back. We need shows like this that are decent and make you feel good
I also really enjoyed Tommy. Maybe a little over the top personal details, but the stories and Tommy’s character were well written and a lot of fun. I wish CBS would reconsider this cancellation. I think it deserves a chance to develop an audience.

Tommy is one of the best shows on TV. Falco is exceptional in her performance and the supporting cast is superb! It should be renewed!

Late but there are a lot of my friends that go to bed at 9. They never had a chance to watch Tommy. Was it canceled because she is a women. She was definitely a very positive person and no abusive language was heard. Bring it back for another 3 or 4 seasons at least.
