Tommy won’t be back on patrol next season. CBS just announced that the network has cancelled the cop drama and won’t be ordering a second season for the 2020-21 broadcast season.
The Tommy series revolves around a former high-ranking NYPD officer who becomes the first female chief of police for Los Angeles. Abigail “Tommy” Thomas (Edie Falco) uses unflinching honesty and hardball tactics to keep social, political, and national security issues from hindering effective law enforcement in the Southland. The CBS drama also stars Michael Chernus, Adelaide Clemens, Thomas Sadoski, Russell G. Jones, Olivia Lucy Phillip, Joseph Lyle Taylor, and Vladimir Caamaño.
Airing on Thursday nights, the first season of Tommy averages a 0.49 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.85 million viewers. The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the drama is the network’s lowest-rated scripted series.
The 12th and final installment of Tommy airs tomorrow night.

Someone made a bad mistake here. Tommy is a great show. And you only Let It Go for 12 episodes. CBS- you folks should be ashamed of yourself. ( And you bring back a stupid show like Bob abba- something). Very Sad

Disappointed that there will not be a season 2. Really loved the show. Maybe try changing air day or something to improve ratings.
I love Tommy. Look forward to it every Thursday night because Edie Falco is one of my favorite actresses since The Sopranos and I am sorry to see it go so sad it was just getting really really good in that last episode last night Thursday was awesome I’m truly sad
We love Tommy. Characters are wonderful and story line is gripping. Very disappointed in CBS decision. You do realize that a major part of your audience is not 18-35. Your younger viewers are watching streaming shows. We oldsters still watch network shows. Please reconsider.

Big mistake. It was a great show. I don’t usually watch CBS because there lineup sucks. This is one of the few good ones. Guess I will go back to watching another channel.
Oh come on! That was a great show. I barely watch regular TV and now you pull a great show like Tommy? Kudos to the cast for great performances. Let’s hope there is an intelligent person out there running a network that feels the same way and brings it back to life. Just like Last Man Standing!

I really liked Tommy, and am disappointed that CBS is not renewing this program. It deserves another season.
Big mistake cancelling the show!!! I think the ratings would be higher in a different time slot. Edie Falco is fantastic!! The rest of the cast did a great job. I looked forward to the show every week, I couldn’t wait. I was a die hard SVU fan and switched. What is wrong with CBS??? I thought they had it all over NBC. Please, give it another chance.
CBS should’ve renewed Tommy but at least had the sense to do so with Blue Bloods.
