The Alphabet Network has had success with Shark Tank, where successful business moguls invest in entrepreneurs. Will its new toy design competition show, The Toy Box, hosted by Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet, attract enough viewers for some more Friday night fun? Will The Toy Box be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
On The Toy Box TV show on ABC, inventors present their toys to mentors including Dylan’s Candy Bar owner Dylan Lauren, toy guru Jim Silver, and Pixar Creative Director of Consumer Products Jen Tan. If the mentors officially approve a concept toy, its inventor moves on to “The Toy Box.” There the designers will face the real test and earn the approval of actual kids, including Sophia Grace Brownlee, Aalyrah Caldwell, Toby Grey, and Noah Ritter. These judges choose which toys will progress to the finals. After the season finale, the winning toy will be sold exclusively at Toys ”R” Us.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/20 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Toy Box TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
6/16 update: The Toy Box has been renewed for season two on ABC. Details here.
I hope they renew it. I love toys. This gives inventors the platform they need to help them live their dreams. The kid judges are so cute.

This show can be improved in so many ways. 1. It’s too long and the editor should be fired. The best part is when it reaches the kid judges, so cut out the first 20 mins. The format should be , introduce a toy then a quick appraisal by adult judges then onto kid judges. Do not show toys that don’t get passed adult judges. Each episode should be 30 min. maximum.
I first thought that this was going to be a good and fair show. After seeing the last show I found out it is an orchestrated show. The three so call toys should have been eliminated. I can say that NO one will buy the toy picked.
Cancel this show or everyone should boycott ABC
I love the Toy Box! I will be disappointed if it does not return for a second season. It ‘s inspirational for young and old and can motivate toy inventers or anyone with a creative mind to “go for it”

Sorry young Noah but you are possibly the MOST ANNOYING kid I have ever seen You remind me exactly of a male version of Honey Boo-Boo. The show BAD, the host BAD, the kids BAD and the Magic 8 Ball is just stupid…….
Before you think I’m a big grump, I really enjoy Shark Tank, which they took off this week for a repeat of Toy Box drivel. Grrrrr….
I inadvertently caught this show as I tune in for Shark Tank. I don’t know whose most annoying, the host or the Noah kid. Tuning out!
I really liked the very first show: cute, innovative, fun. It has quickly devolved into boring, annoying and unwatchable. I love kids but on this orchestrated show, they add nothing. I also haven’t seen a single toy I would ever buy.
Please cancel this show, ABC.
This show was cute at first but then it started to get boring. The host should stick to acting only…or act like a host. He acts like a statue who looks bored and hates his job. I hope they cancel the show. None of these kid actors or host need the money. Poor people do. Stop making more people richer by having them say stupid things. Reality shows making trashy rich woman more richer makes me sick! Reality shows suck! Except for Shark Tank:)
Love The Toy Box!!!! Great TV for the entire family!!! Gives inventors of toys a chance at making a child’s life a lot more FUN!!!
The judges seem inconsistent in their appraisals…Are the candy cannon & pinata backpack really toys? I appreciate the inventors and their wild eyed optimism but the show is slow and laborious. The kids have become become annoying already!
Cancel…we now avoid it…once was enough!
Well our family love the show. It’s about time a show came along that the whole family can view and discuss together. We especially love the young British Girl Sophia Grace. She is really Sassy.
I really hated this show. Stuck out the first episode and swore never again. The little red-haired boy was especially irritating.
I find it offensive that when Eric states “We will be right back after a potty break” these are not toddlers that require a “Potty Break” they are young elementary age children! In school they say bathroom. I am very surprised that a parent has not tried to sue the show on some belittling charge.
