Sorry, True Detective fans. According to Vulture, a third season of the HBO crime drama is unlikely.
Created by Nic Pizzolatto, the anthology series featured a new crime, location, and set of detectives each season. Season two starred Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Vince Vaughn, and Taylor Kitsch.
In a recent Hollywood Reporter profile of new HBO head Casey Bloys, the programming chief said a third season of the drama is unlikely to happen. The news is hardly surprising. After a successful first season with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, season two fell short of its high expectations with both critics and fans.
However, since Pizzolatto has an overall deal with the network through 2018, there will likely be a new series in the future.
What do you think? Are you a fan of True Detective? Do you still want a third season?
season 2 was as good as season 1 !! why wouldn’t hbo make a season 3 ??
I still would like to see this show returning for 2016.
Please bring this excellent crime drama back. Every Sunday I was glued to my tv watching the show.
