Is there a chance for more Twin Peaks? Recently, Showtime chief Gary Levine discussed the possibility of another season for the series reboot, Variety reports.
The cult-favorite drama wrapped its 18-episode revival in September. The cast included the returne of original stars Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Mädchen Amick, Dana Ashbrook, Russell Tambyln, Ray Wise, Sherilynn Fenn, and Miguel Ferrer.
At this year’s TCA winter press tour, Levine said Showtime is definitely open to more Twin Peaks if creators Mark Frost and David Lynch are interested:
The door at Showtime is always open to Mark and David for more ‘Twin Peaks’ or anything else they want to talk about.
But, he added, another season may take some time:
The work was extraordinary, the fan reaction was extraordinary, and it was incredibly good for our brand and our network. But let’s remember it took 25 years for Mark and David to go from 1.0 to 2.0. Add to that what David did in the last few years was nothing short of Herculean. To direct 18 consecutive hours of television belongs in the Guiness Book of World Records. And wrote, and starred, and edited, and composed. It’s a Herculean task and he did it just so beautifully.”
What do you think? Did you watch the Twin Peaks revival? Would you watch another season?
I was a huge fan of the original Twin Peaks but I have to say that I really did not enjoy this latest series. I especially didn’t like how Agent Cooper was portrayed for most of the season and most of the show actually took part away from the town of Twin Peaks having said all that I would still probably watch another season.
I’ve been a Twin Peaks fan from the beginning. Or as we were called back in the day: a “Peaks Freak”. I loved the Revival on Showtime. It was just the right amount of wierdness I needed, at just the rigjt time. It was way too wierd for my boyfriend who had never seen the original. And now I find myself in 2020 longing for that wierdness again. Please David & Mark bring back the Revival, or the Revival of the Revival of Twi.n Peaks! The true “Peaks Freaks” are longing for it!!!
I know this show has a serious cult following, but frankly I thought the new season was terrible. I’m not entirely sure why I watched it, since I also thought Season 2 from back in the day wasn’t very good. I guess I was hoping it would return to the form it showed in the original Season 1 from 1990.
