Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

I really feel that the whole story was powerful. There are too many unanswered questions and the possibility of a powerful and positive message could have been achieved. I hope someone takes it home!
What was the point of making the first 3 seasons if you’re not going to finish it. It ended at the point of an all out war. How can you end a show that is so good at a point like that?
Bring back Tyrant! We got attached to the characters and you left us with an open ending in season 3. I can’t stop thinking about what can come next.
Please bring back Tyrant. Season 4 is needed. Its the best.
Oh my goodness. Tyrant pulls the viewer in every scene. I share the emotions with all the characters. I have never watched a show in which I disliked and liked characters yet I root for them all. So conflicting, its naturally interactive. WE need a 4th season

I watched tyrant 2020 didnt know it had no end it would wake me up thinking about what happens do they kill the terrorists do they get democracy I have never watch a show that has done that please bring it back

Please bring season 4. I have never seen a series like this one. I hardly see TV, but when I started to see this series, I could not stop watching, I’m saddened to know, you stopped playing it. I would really love for it to come back, to were it left off, I’m so addicted to this show, I LIVE ALL THE ACTORS.

bring it back. Tyrant was definitely one of my favorite shows. I’m watching it for a fourth time. I need season 4.
I truly hope that Season 4 will come about. I have definitely enjoyed seeing the show and watching how the characters change.
I watched this FX show “The Tyrant” on Hulu, and knew when episode 10 of season 3 was half done that there was no way we were going to be able to wrap all the loose ends up.
I would absolutely like to see a season 4!!!! This show was so well acted, written, filmed, and directed it just saddens me to no end that I will not see how all these beloved characters fulfill their destiny.
