Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

No 4th season! well that is just a waste of our time.Is it money,Audiance,Ratings? It is all just wrong not to have a few episodes to “bring a good or bad ending.
The show cannot end without a finale. It is so relevant to the world today. War, upheavals, conflicts and unnecessary killings cannot be what you leave the viewer with. Let us see there can be a peaceful end to the turmoil. At least allow us to pretend its possible.
That was not a good ending ! It needs to be finished
There is so much that can still be done with another season, to end it properly for one. There are not many tv series about the middle east. Good actors too. I looked to see when season 4 would come out only to be disappointed.
Bring it back to at least wrap everything up! It ended with no resolution of any of the many storylines going on. Horrible way to end an amazing series!
