Early last year, FOX ordered a new romantic comedy, Us & Them, for the 2013-14 season. In October, the network cancelled the show and shut down production after six episodes.
Word was that they were unhappy with the direction of the series and planned to burn off the produced episodes this summer. Now, TVLine reports that the sitcom won’t ever air on the network. No reason for the decision was given.
Based on the British series Gavin & Stacey, Us & Them is a single-camera ensemble comedy that follows a pair of young lovers (Jason Ritter and Alexis Bledel) whose relationship is complicated by their each having an unusual group of friends. The rest of the cast includes Ashlie Atkinson, Dustin Ybarra, Jane Kaczmarek, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Kurt Fuller.
What do you think? Do you think FOX should have aired the six episodes? Would you watch them online or rent/purchase them?
I’d buy it on DVD if FOX released it on DVD
I am upset by this decision. I was looking forward to seeing this and kept waiting for them to decide to actually air the darn thing. Welp another reason not to watch network television again.
That’s ridiculous. Why would Fox just disregard the time and money put so far into the series? They should show the 6 episodes and let the viewers decide.
FOX SHOULD PICK UP ( THE GLADES ) SINCE IT HAS THEIR NAME ON IT. IT IS NOT FAIR TO US WHO LOVED THE SHOW. A & E DONE US WRONG BY LEAVING US HANGING. THANK YOU, PAUL
