Though Veep and Girls haven’t been big hits with HBO subscribers, the cable channel has renewed each one for a second season. Both of them air on Sunday evenings and will return for another 10 episodes each.
About a group of twenty-something ladies in the Big Apple, Girls stars the show’s creator, Lena Dunham. The series debuted to a 0.4 rating in the demo and 872,000 viewers. Last week’s installment drew about the same with a 0.4 rating and 858,000.
Veep premiered last Sunday night with a 0.6 demo rating and 1.38 million viewers. The new series stars sitcom-vet Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the vice president of the United States.
The ratings for last night’s showings aren’t available yet.
