TV show description:
Created and written by Michael Hirst (The Tudors), this TV series takes place in the brutal and mysterious world of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), a Viking warrior and farmer who yearns to explore (and raid) the distant shores across the ocean.
Ragnar’s ambition puts him at odds with local chieftain Earl Haraldson (Gabriel Byrne), who insists on sending his raiders to the impoverished east, rather than the uncharted west. When Ragnar teams up with his boat builder friend, Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard), to craft a new generation of intrepid ships capable of conquering the rough northern seas, the stage is set for conflict.
Aside from warfare and bloodshed, the series also tells the story of family and brotherhood; capturing the love and affection between Ragnar and his wife, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) — a respected warrior in her own right.
Other characters include Ragnar’s brother Rollo (Clive Standen), a fierce fighter who simmers with jealously; Earl Haraldson’s wife Siggy (Jessalyn Gilsig), a dutiful beauty who may be less than loyal; and monk Athelstan (George Blagden), whose Christian morals clash with the Vikings’ pagan society.
Episode #69 — The Last Act
The epic saga which began with Ragnar Lothbrok, the first Viking hero to emerge from the mists of myth and legend, comes to an end in a spectacular and shocking series finale that finds tragedy striking in the new land and in England.
First aired: December 30, 2021.
What do you think? Do you like the Vikings TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season?
THIS IS A GREAT SERIES. LOVE THE VIKINGS…..WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS CONTINUE ON. THE ACTING IS GREAT AND THE SUBJECT MATERIAL IS AWESOME.
Don’t watch much T.V, due to the fact that there isn’t much worth watching. Vikings is the exception. Awesome portrayals of the subjects. Many compliments and thanks to the History Channel, as well as the cast, for producing such a good series. Hassan
A rare historical/fiction series that is captivating. Now in season 3 it has so much more it can offer of the often violent intermingling of European cultures of the 8th and 9th centuries, that led to our western culture. I hope they can afford to continue this fabulous series. PLEASE RENEW!
Only one thing I can honestly say I truly hate about this show.
NOT ENOUGH EPISODES!!
This show I believe will run it’s course, however long that may be.
Best show ever. My son and I have been watching it since the first season. I love all the cast members. Keep it going
I love the show and would like to see it continue
This is one of the best shows that I have seen in a long time. my wife and I are big history buffs and this show for what we can tell looks and feels very authentic. We just started watching the show a few weeks ago and are caught up in it and can’t wait to see the next episode.
the dates and the kings are off big time .vikings lived in longhouses nt single framed houses.alfred is off by over 100 years, alfreds grandson was anthelstan not his father.when the prist anthelstan was kidnapped he said his country was called england,it wasn’t called england until Alfred the great .don’t get me wrong i like the show.but getting the dates places and names right would hurt the story or cost anymore. I don’t know if Rollo on the show will be Rollo who was given Normandy by the king Charles ,I guess we will see.
The Vikings is one the top television shows in years.
In addition to watching the show, I will buy the blu-ray of the third season when it comes out.
This is a fabulous show with an authentic feel from the wardrobe to the fight scenes. I find myself waiting anxiously for the next episode to air. It is the one and only show I watch on the History channel.
Please, please, please, don’t ever cancel the very best show I’ve ever watched! I wish it would go on forever, but at the very least for many seasons to come.
Vikings; without question one of the best shows on TV! The premise is true to history and new to an audience sick to death with nitwit sitcoms or the cheapest of all to produce, the reality show. The contest of a set of people that will make any sacrifice, preform any humiliation for their fifteen minutes of fame. The Vikings script, production and acting captivate even the audience that are just spending time surfing the channels hoping to find something of interest. The History channel has hit on a winner, not only entertaining, but may actually spark some of the… Read more »
I want to appeal to your artist design and respectfully ask that you keep the foul language out of the series.
Very captivating. The best portrayal of the Viking lifestyle I have ever seen. Can hardly wait for the next season to begin.
Very intense series. We love it. Very raw but truthful in the way they existed. Very eager for new series.
We look forward to the next episode. It is one of the best series on TV. Most of tv is for twits and boring or supposed to be funny and isn’t. Vikings is so different; please don’t cancel it ever!
