A spy drama with a screwball comedy bent, Whiskey Cavalier stars Scott Foley, Lauren Cohan, Ana Ortiz, Tyler James Williams, Vir Das, and Josh Hopkins. The series centers on FBI Agent Will Chase (Foley), codename: “Whiskey Cavalier” and CIA operative Frankie Trowbridge (Cohan), codename: “Fiery Tribune.” Although they start off as rivals, they’re soon assigned to a joint-agency task force to root out corruption and crime and save the world.
Airing on Wednesday nights, the first season of Whiskey Cavalier is averaging a 0.59 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.47 million viewers.
Out of the 21 scripted ABC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, Whiskey Cavalier is in 18th place in the demo and 13th place in total viewership.
The decision to renew or cancel Whiskey Cavalier reportedly came down to the wire. Word is that Warner Bros TV will be shopping season two to other outlets so there is some small hope that the series will survive.

ABC will wish they had kept it. It’s a great show and another station will pick it up reaping all the benefits of a hit show. Wed night at 10 is fine for me, but perhaps find another time slot before you go make a stupid dumpass move like ‘cancelling’, breaking our hearts like that!

I thoroughly enjoy this show. It’s serious and it’s light. The interaction of the characters is fun to watch. The writing is excellent and the character development keeps evolving. It would be disappointing to see this series cancelled, after investing all this time in season one.

I love this show and really hope another network picks it up! I really wonder what the network is thinking by canceling Whiskey Cavalier. Crazy!
The cast in this show had a chemistry that was apparent from the first episode. As someone who doesn’t what any reality TV, I’m disappointed that reality TV seems to dominate today. Whiskey Cavalier was one of the few shows I watched on ABC. Looks like I won’t be watching ABC next season.
I love this show! I just found it on Hulu and have binge watched. ABC needs to look into all aspects of things before canceling. A .59 is bad but it was too rated for DVR playback! Someone has got to pick this up. I love the chemistry of the actors and how funny it is for a spy show.
I have just learned that Whiskey Cavalier is not being renewed. This is so very disappointing. This show has such good character chemistry and great writing. The banter between the characters is laugh out loud. The mistake ABC made with this show was placing it at a late hour — should have been earlier. This show just had the element that was fun to watch. I do hope it is picked up by another network. I loved watching Whiskey Cavalier and hope that another network will take it. It had the right amount of thrill, romance and comedy. The characters all had good chemistry it was an all around great show and there aren’t very many good shows left to watch during prime time. I find I usually watch cable news or HGTV or my Hallmark shows.
My husband and I thought it was entertaining and a nice change for a spy show. Their chemistry was cute and the other cast members a nice compliment. Don’t know who makes these decisions to cancel these lighter entertaining series. It’s a shame.
This was fun entertainment. I loved that it was not a message on anything , a tear jerker or a cringe from the fear and horror exercise. It is just a fun escape. We need this more than ever.
I too thoroughly enjoy this show. Put behind some real duds, as far as I am concerned. A throwback show to when such genre were fun, witty and action packed. So much better than all the reality and current culture shows. Hopefully another company will pick it up.
