When it was announced that NBC had ordered a pilot for a new Wonder Woman series, many believed that there was no way that a new show could live up to the 1970s version. It’s hard to tell if the David E. Kelley project would have changed their minds but, now that it’s been shelved, we’ll never know.
One thing that’s easy to see is that many people obviously have a great deal of affection for the original Wonder Woman live-action series. Clearly the folks who work on Batman: The Brave and the Bold really love the show as well.
A recent episode featured the first appearance of the Amazon Princess on Brave and the Bold and it was filled with homages to the live-action Wonder Woman — complete with catchy theme-song, vintage costume, sound-effects, and a bit of feminist lecturing.
If you watched the Lynda Carter series years ago, the clip below will surely put a smile on your face.
What do you think? Does this make you long for the original Wonder Woman series? Would you be interested in an animated series starring the Amazon princess?
I was very glad when I first saw this amazing homage! Unfortunately, they are not that creative to make a new Wonder Woman movie on big screen! Warner Bros. Studios should hire George Pérez or Greg Rucka to write a Wonder Woman screenplay….
LOVE IT!!! And the slo-mo/freeze frame fight scenes – Brilliant!
Nice little Tribute.
Cool! Cool! that brought fond memories of the show.
