Summer is almost here, and it is time to dive into the water. To celebrate the arrival of summer, the Travel Channel has ordered new episodes of Xtreme Waterparks and Top Secret Swimming Holes.
Travel Channel released a press statement detailing their summer plans. Check that out below.
“Travel Channel delivers the ultimate summer getaway with heart-pumping water thrills, gorgeous secluded beach destinations and over-the-top waterslides in its water-themed programming event “Dive In,” beginning Sunday, June 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Eighteen new half-hour episodes of Xtreme Waterparks and 14 new hour-long episodes of Top Secret Swimming Holes will inspire audiences to escape to the nearest beach, pool or waterpark. In addition, a new special, titled “Pools With A View,” splashes into tantalizing pools around the planet on Sunday, June 4 at 11 p.m. ET/PT. Whether it’s trekking through lush tropical rainforests or scaling cave walls in the desert, Travel Channel leaves no stone unturned when it shares the most exciting places to dive into water this summer.
“With ‘Dive In,’ we’re giving families of all ages the binge-worthy summer programming fun that they crave,” said Courtney White, senior vice president, programming, Travel Channel and Food Network. “We’re offering everyone a refreshing escape to the best places for warm weather adventures.”
In the premiere episode of Xtreme Waterparks, airing Sunday, June 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the adrenaline-filled ride begins off the southern tip of Portugal, where thrill seekers take on one of the tallest, heart-pumping drops on the planet. The adventure continues in Louisville, Kentucky, where a spin on one of the world’s first water coasters, with its snaking high bank turns, blasts riders through more than 900-feet of enclosed tunnels and thrilling hills at speeds topping 30 mph.
Premiering July 23, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Top Secret Swimming Holes kicks off a sun-soaked journey to an incredible limestone pool – hidden from the horizon – in the desert of Oman. An otherworldly swim inside the mystical Fingal’s Cave in Scotland, which boasts symmetrical basalt columns, caps a spectacular “insider” travel experience.”
Will you check out these new episodes next month? Tell us what you think.
It would be nice to have the travel channel do programs about all the amusement parks here in FL. I think they need to do more travel shows and less food shows and save those for the food & cooking channels. Just saying.
