TV Land is starting to shift away from “classic” TV star vehicles and in favor of hip comedies. Is this a good idea? Will their Younger sitcom be a hit or a flop? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
On the Younger TV show, a recently single mother (Sutton Foster) tries to re-enter the working world but finds her age to be a problem. After being mistaken for a younger woman, she decides to pass herself off as a 26 year old and lands a job as the assistant of a publishing executive (Miriam Shor). The cast also includes Nico Tortorella, Debi Mazar, and Hilary Duff.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

What do you think? Do you like the Younger TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I think it’s funny. Really good cast of characters and actors. I’m mid-40 and can relate to many of the story lines; especially technology. I still don’t understand why people text instead of phone someone.
I really hope it gets renewed.
I truly like this show and sutton reminds me of Lauren graham and I live them both. She is brilliant. This is the only other show besides Kung of queens, Raymond, Roseanne, and friends that I will watch tv land for. Excellent addition
Love it
The show is adorable and very funny but definitely suffering by being on TV Land . I think it’s a show tons of people would watch if they knew it was on. Everyone I’ve talked to about the show had never even seen promos, that’s the big issue with TV Land they don’t have the money to heavily advertise shows such as other networks with shittier shows. For Example ” The Royals ” is terrible but heavily promoted so much it was renewed before it’s premiere. I would love to see ” Younger ” be in for the long run,… Read more »
The people past their 20’s who watch this show are taking it way too personally and literally. The show very lightheartedly pokes fun at “older” people (and, in my opinion, focuses more on criticism of the younger generation’s vanity and the concept of ageism). I don’t really think anyone can be justifiably upset. I agree that Sutton Foster’s character should have been played by a slightly younger-looking actress (not that she looks old; just not passable as 26), but part of fictional works is the suspension of disbelief. While the likelihood of these events actually occurring is extremely low, I’m… Read more »
That show has NO BUSINESS being on TV Land!!!! For what I hear about the ratings, NOBODY is watching this crap anyway! Word to TV Land and Nick, go back to Classic TV, PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSE!
Sutton foster is a genius in every show ( hello, bun heads!). Would watch her in anything. Same with Debi mazar. Talent galore, girls. The best part about this show is being 40 and watching it. The stupid stuff I did in my mid twenties while I thought I was so smart. Delightful to relive it. Oh, and that hot young man…. keeper. Definitely a keeper.
Hated it. Demeaning concept. Know you buy the premise, you buy the bit but the character’s age would be outed in about thirty minutes by HR. In addition, SF is a good looking forty (and there is absolutely nothing wrong w being forty) but not believable as twenty-six. Plus, the clothes look ludicrous even on Hilary Duff. Also, an intelligent woman if her background not knowing much about Twitter isn’t credible and the younger girl not knowing about Punky Brewster doesn’t ring true. Hope it pulls in the new demo TV Land wants because the network lost me and I… Read more »
I really enjoyed this one as well. The actress is adorable in this part & yes, could certainly pass for someone in her 20’s.
I was also glad to see her w/a younger guy! I get so tired of the girls in their 20’s being paired up w/guys old enough to be either their fathers or their grandfathers! Hope they keep this going even after he knows how old she really is.
Like everyone else I’ll keep watching!
Surprisingly good.
original.
Tongue in cheek funny! !!
Sleeper of the seasons
networks will fight for the reruns!
Hard to know what comprises acceptable ratings for a TV Land program, but I liked the show and will watch again. Sutton Foster is well cast in that, in addition to playing her actual age (40), she is believable as a 26-year-old, and also as a 40-year-old character pretending to be 26.
Sutton Foster is a breath of fresh air. Her name brought me to the show. The rest of the cast, and the writing will keep bringing me back. It’s not at all what I expected, and that’s a good thing. Hope it has legs (Sutton sure does!) Lots of fun, and the hour just flew by.
I really liked it!! Being older it was fun to live through her and the excitement of first love, dating, new friends, first job etc. However realizing too that times have changed and with it comes some frustrations and disappointments. Makes you appreciate being mature and wise. Also teaches the younger and less wise that they should consider looking to us for advice. This show beats all the other junk on tv these days. Look forward to watching through our hot summers!
Love Sutton, all around great. I hope the show gets views!!!! Can’t wait to see the direction the show takes!!!
I was surpised that I liked this show. Love the cast, but the premise seemed far-fetched…BUT it worked for me after all! Will keep watching and have it set to record all episodes.
It was actually pretty decent. I’m a 40 yr old who still believes she can play 28, lol. The new generation references have opened my eyes. Looking forward to more episodes.
