Day Break: Taye Diggs Series Finally Comes to DVD!

Day Break on DVDWhen ABC pulled Day Break from the airwaves in December 2006, the network promised to post the remaining seven episodes online. It took them awhile but ABC.com started showing them in February. Unfortunately, many people didn’t know that they were there or didn’t have computers that could handle the streaming video. Luckily for them (and anyone who missed the show entirely), the series is finally being released on DVD.

BCI has just announced that they will be releasing the complete Day Break series on DVD on March 11th — and what a package it will be! Aside from the standard photo gallery and interviews with cast and crew, it sounds like there will be audio commentary on all 13 episodes. The commentary tracks will feature series stars Taye Diggs, Moon Bloodgood, Adam Baldwin, Victoria Pratt, Mitch Pileggi, Meta Golding, Ian Dale Anthony and Ramon Rodriguez, as well as series creator/writer/producer Paul Zbyszewski, showrunner/writer/producer Jeffrey Bell, director/producer Rob Bowman, producer Matthew Gross, writers/producer Steven Maeda, writers/producer Henry Alonso Myers, and film editor/producer Marta Evry. Wow!

Unfortunately, it’s looking very likely that we won’t ever see Detective Brett Hopper in new adventures. On the upside, with all of the commentary tracks and interviews, it looks like we have a good shot at learning what the writers had in mind for a second season. Stay tuned! I was so hooked on this show from episode one. This type of show is majorly lacking on TV. Icing on the cake was the hunk and great actor Taye Diggs and his beautiful and interesting girlfriend. Cancelling this show short of the middle was the last straw for me with TV. I can’t get it out of my mind and want the DVD desperately! I am so done with the “boob tube”!!!

Daybreak was a show I looked forward to watching, and I was disappointed when it went off the air. I’m really glad it was made available on dvd, and it is now part of my collection.

I am beyond thrilled right now. I LOVED this show, but could never see those last few eps. I’ve hoped for DVDs since it was pulled, but didn’t think it would actually happen. Oh, this just made my night.

Fantastic. I can’t believe how “hooked” I became on Daybreak; I’ll be so ready to purchase this set. I’m so sad that there was going to be a second season that we’ll never see. Does ABC every wonder what they were thinking?
