3.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 13.41 million total viewers.
Season averages: 3.10 in the demo with 13.41 million.
This was a positive start for the new series, particularly in viewership, but the demo could have been stronger — especially considering the fairly lackluster competition (Scandal on ABC and Rock Center with Brian Williams on NBC).
Compared to the season premiere of The Mentalist a year ago, CBS was up by 10% in the demo (vs a 2.8 rating) and down by 1% in viewers (vs 13.56 million).
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Elementary TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a second season?

I love this show! Please renew it!
TOTALLY LOVE THIS SHOW! IT’S MY FAVE!
My husband and I just LOVE this show…The cast, script writing, and directing are exceptionally fine! The actors should both receive Emmy nominations. PLEASE KEEP this show CBS!!!
Love this show !
My husband and I watch this every week and LOVE IT! It’s a very intriguing take on a modern day Holmes and Watson and we look forward to seeing what the next new episode is going to be. We just finished watching “M” (DVR’d) and we’re both REALLY hoping this is renewed for another season.
I agree!!! It is the first show in a long time that I have looked forward to every week
I usually don’t watch any new series the first year. I get tired of having my heart broken. It took a life threatening illness to push me back into watching television to begin with. What happens is I watch a series and really get into it, then bam, the network kills it. Usually with no great ending to put the story to rest and a lot of times before a complete first season can be put together.
Elementary looked so good that I could not wait to watch and get into it from it’s very first preview. This is definitely a series that needs to have a complete course. The cast is fantastic. The storylines have been really good. We all seem to love how you have brought Holmes and Watson into modern day. Now, with “M” Moriarty, you MUST keep this on the air and play it out.
CBS has some really good shows on the air. It took me this past year to catch up on all the Mentalist shows (remember if I weren’t sick, I wouldn’t be watching tv due to all the shows being cancelled), and that is another show that needs to ride until it’s completion. Shame on CBS if you don’t keep these shows and take them to the end. Of course they all must come to an end, but there is way too many places to take these two shows.
Please don’t disappoint.
k.
Elementary is awesome. Any body would like this show. It’s funny witty clean (minus a few blood stains). Lol. This is next best to arrow Please do not cancel this show and keep the same cast as well. Thank u!!!
One of the best shows out now ~ My husband and I really enjoy the cast and writing!

My son and I watch it every week. We love the show! Please renew it for a second season
Live Elementary and Person of Interest please don’t cancel either. Plus you just brought moriarty in the picture…. This is just the beginning of something great to be even Greater
Please don’t cancel Elementary!!! It’s a great show! Bringing Sherlock into the future was a great idea. Jonny Miller & Lucy Liu make a wonderful team.
Please renew, one of the most innovative shows on T.V. I really really enjoy the plots and the actors. Please do a season 2!
my favorite is elementary and person of interest two great shows
I spend my whole Thursday night watching CBS, and this is a terrific follow-up to Person of Interest, in my opinion. My whole family will stay up to watch, because it is just that good.
