TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Please please do not cancel this series. I am very fond of the series.
Longmire is a good series. I watched all o season 4 on Netflix. You start watching and cant stop. Now we will never know what happen to the law suite. Walt and his new found love. Still lots of story line. Please have season 5 and more. My husband and I really enjoy this program.
Disappointed to Bailey Chase leave the show ? Love season 4 so far though.
I have found Longmire to be a new face in the world of TV series. I have lived in Arizona most of my life, and have spent many wonderful weeks in almost every part of the Western U.S. It is a rare occurrence these days to be able to see a series or show that even comes close to portraying life in the still mostly open spaces of the western U.S. I believe that the show has been well done and would love to see it continue as long as the writers can produce a story line that draws viewers.… Read more »
I agree also.
You know, as time goes on, it gets harder to find shows that keep you on the edge evry episode. As a contractor I work with all kinds of people and I like that, but at the end of the day, I so look forward to relaxing and watching my favorite show. The acting by all is fantastic. A&E made a mistake with this one, Netflix, well, they just landed another reason to be a yearly subscriber. Thank you Netflix, and all of you that made this show possible. I really love this show!
Im gettin ready to watch season 4 of Longmire on Netflix yeah! I’m really excited Thanks again Netflix.
Please don’t/ cancel alongside I love it why did Bailey Chase leave
Just started watching on netflex this weekend Can’t stop watching
It is now on Netflix today. New season 4. Have to watch. It’s great.
It is a refreshing show. Tired of all this reality junk. They are all fake and liars and perverts in the end it all comes out.
Please put something with some quality to it back on.
well I have done this for Longmire prior to this when they were considering cancelling it as well as keeping the Weather Channel on Direct TV which paid off in both situations. But did not intend for it to go to Netflix thou where I have to pay for bill to watch TV. I already pay enough for Direct Tv and now retired counting all my pennies. This is type of TV programs I like all this other these other sitcoms can hang it up. Would like to see it stay on but why can’t TNT or FX pick this… Read more »
Did I mention I have never ever done this for a tv program, until now.
Please please please do not cancel, I have chemo, love the books reread them, and now Netflix has put it on, do not have cable but would have for this one program, it really shows a bent honest, and is that not life, I love it, please do not cancel let it go on as long as Walt want to sometimes get the short end of what life has to offer, are we not all at one time or another on the same track. Did I mention please. Suzellen Holt
A&E stands for arts and entertainment. Seems like A&E forgot what entertainment is. They have(had) a great show and they canceled it. I too stopped watching A&E because of things they have done. A&E is not longer entertainment to me.
I can’t understand how A & E could cancel a top rated show like Longmire! I stopped watching A & E. Not only did they fire Phil Robertson, yes they hired him back, but they did this stupid stunt. I could understand canceling Longmire if it had poor ratings, but it didn’t.
I’ve been a fan of the series since it aired and have enjoyed the no nonsense approach to rural law enforcement by Robert Taylor’s character. Lou Diamond Phillips and the other cast members make the show a success. I believe the the writers have done an excellent job providing a believable plot. This is not the mainstream cop show and as a retired LE officer I think it works.
