Secret Talents of the Stars: CBS Reality Series Cancelled After One Episode

Secret Talents of the StarsAfter a disastrous premiere, CBS has dumped Secret Talents of the Stars. Apparently this show didn’t have any talent for attracting viewers.

CBS ordered the reality show and hurried it into production during the recent Writers Strike. With the strike now over and original episodes of many regular series back on the air, the network has little patience for an under-performing reality series.

Secret Talents attracted a dismal 4.6 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic, the worst performance since CBS’ coverage of Super Tuesday. As a result, Secret Talents has been dumped. The network has long had a problem successfully filling the timeslot which has been occupied by cancelled series like Jericho, 3 lbs., and Smith.

For the next two Tuesdays, the 10pm timeslot will be filled by episodes of 48 Hours Mystery. After that, Shark will take over. Shark had previously been scheduled for 9pm but CBS has opted to shift it to 10pm and air repeats of The Unit as a lead-in (possibly a good sign for Unit’s renewal).

Singer Mya, and Star Trek’s George Takei were eliminated in the first episode while country singer Clint Black and Olympic figure skater Sasha Cohen were voted through to the semi-finals. Could Cohen or Black have won the competition? The world will never know. Stay tuned! TV Series Finale home page
