From TV Land executive Keith Cox:
The show is a force in and of itself, so it’s a no-brainer to renew it again. Critics and fans love it, and I know Darren and the entire cast and crew behind ‘Younger’ will continue to deliver at the top of their game.”
Season three began production this week. It will premiere on September 28th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

New York, NY – June 14, 2016 – TV Land’s critically-acclaimed, fan favorite comedy series “Younger,” from “Sex and the City” creator Darren Star, has been renewed for a 12-episode fourth season, it was announced today by Keith Cox, Executive Vice President of Development and Original Programming for the network. The news comes on the heels of the series, starring two-time Tony(R) winner Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, Peter Hermann and Molly Bernard, beginning production on its third season this week in New York. Season three of “Younger” will premiere on Wednesday, September 28th at 10pm ET/PT, followed by the season two premiere of “Impastor,” which was originally scheduled for this summer.
The second season of “Younger” continued to grow from the first season and through the second. Season two finished with double digit gains among all key demos (up +67% with Adults 25-54; +66% among Women 25-54; +63% with Adults 18-49; +60% among Women 18-49) versus the series’ season one average. Social media numbers climbed as well from end of season one to end of season two, tripling the series’ followers on Instagram, doubling its following on Twitter and seeing a +40% increase in Facebook fans. VOD orders also tripled from the premiere episode to the finale episode of season two – a number sure to grow now that seasons one and two are available for binge-watching on TV Land On Demand, and also the TV Land app.
“The show is a force in and of itself, so it’s a no-brainer to renew it again,” said Cox. “Critics and fans love it, and I know Darren and the entire cast and crew behind ‘Younger’ will continue to deliver at the top of their game.”
“Younger” follows Liza (Foster), a 40-year old woman who pretends to be 26 in order to get a job in the highly competitive world of publishing – and succeeds. Now working under the prickly Diana (Shor), Liza has to figure out how to balance her real life with best friend Maggie (Mazar), and her “pretend” life with her new crew – friend/coworker Kelsey (Duff) and fashion publicist Lauren (Bernard). At the end of season two, Liza’s secret took a tragic turn when Kelsey’s fiancé Thad (Dan Amboyer) was killed in an accident right after he discovered her lie, and Liza’s love life is in disarray as she tries to choose between on-again/off-again boyfriend Josh (Nico Tortorella) and her boss Charles (Peter Hermann), with whom she has an undeniable connection.
“Younger” is created, executive produced and written by Darren Star, with Tony Hernandez of JAX Media executive producing for TV Land. Dottie Zicklin and Eric Zicklin also serve as executive producers and writers on the series.”
