This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.

Love A Gifted Man,I hate the fact the moved it to 9,I watch another show at 9 so now I have to watch A gifted man on my comp.I hate the show they put in its original time slot!I think a lot of thought went into this show,it keeps my interest, all the actors seem to click with each other.Something good with out a lot of violence and the usual garbage gets the ax.Not happy at all!
The show is great, it will be sad to see it cancelled. I am not a fan of any of these crime show and A Gifted Man is all about hope and helping others. CBS should invest in it and renew it for next season.
i thoroughly agree! The acting is great, the storyline is wonderful and it is a refreshing change from the sick, violent forensic shows and ridiculous reality shows on television that dominate the entire lineup.
I watch NCIS on Tuesday night, Criminal Minds on Wednesday night and A Gifted Man on Friday night. Please don’t mess up my schedule!! There is not much else worth watching unless I can find a good mystery movie.
I just started watching A Gifted Man after Christmas and have really enjoyed this new medical drama.
I would be sorry to see it cancelled. It makes a nice change from all the murder/cop shows and reality TV!!!
I absolutely love A Gifted Man. I love the characters and the different cases. I’m so excited to see what happens with Michael and Kate they just can’t cancel the show!

I really hope this series is not cancelled. I love the show and have from the first episode. It is very interesting, has terrific actors, and great plots. I never miss an episode!

PLEASE, don’t cancel this show! There was always a great storyline and the mix of
actors made the show more interesting and indicated their lack of discrimination.
There are so few good shows like this one. It would be sad to see it go by the wayside.
When the show first aired, I thought it would be stupid. Then I really started to enjoy it and looking forward to Friday nights because of this show. Most TV shows are f’ing junk…….Bachelor, Surviver, Unforgettable, 2 Broke Girls, GCB……I mean, this is the reason why America is going down the toilet! We want to watch this crap! Put more shows like Gifted on. Show Americans we still have brains.
Season finale was awesome!! I was hoping to see Kate and Michael get together (still hoping…lol). Then I herd it might be cancelled. I was really dissapointed to hear that I really hope it is back for season 2 so that we can see what happens between Kate and Michael
