This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.

The Gifted Man is a wonderful show. An absolute must in our house every week. It’s a feel good show because it is how we would all love the medical industry to work. The story line different but always interesting. The actors fantastic. Oh how I love this show. Please don’t let this show go away. We need to see happy endings now.
This is a wonderful show, nothing nasty, no bad language, and I enjoy learning something new every week. It would be a shame to let this one go.
A Gifted Man cancelled? That is crazy stupid. It’s one of the best cast, best written, and best acted shows out there. Fantastic characters that drive the plot! Why is it that all the good shows get cancelled. America… You are really dumbing down…
I love the show. Each one of the anchors builds off the other. I very much want to see Kate and Michael together. There are to many shows out there that show two people that love one another and they play shy with one another. Hopefully the ex-wife Anna will go away now, since her heart has died in the donor. CBS don’t take the show off. Give it another chance.
Very sorry to see that it may be cancelled. It was as lower start but then again most new shows are . It has now hit its stride with good writing and great relationship building .
The diversity of story lines brings our family back each week .. Give it another year and it will build and loyal large audience .

A Gifted Man and Unforgettable are two of the best shows on TV. If CBS cancels either one of these shows, I think that will be the end of my watching any CBS shows. I don’t like your sneaky tactics. You produce a wonderful show, get people totally immersed, and then cancel them, hoping that people will continue to watch whatever you decide to replace them with. I will not be manipulated to watch any CBS show because I know that it will be cancelled. I will have to investigate other channels. Maybe they don’t employ such underhanded tactics.
CBS will keep something like The Good Wife which is horrible, but cancel this…makes no sense

This is an outstanding drama! I have so enjoyed each and every episode and loved watching Michael’s transformation into a more spiritual, less selfish being. To cancel this show is a slap in the face of people with any intelligence and taste, and I am sorry to say I do not think there many of these around. The medical facts presented are so fascinating, the technology at Holt Neuro is mindboggling and I have learned something I did not know on every episode. DO NOT TAKE THIS SHOW OFF TV. It is one of the only shows I’ll watch. Everything is violence, forensics, law or ridiculous reality shows. The “other” popular “doctor” show has gotten even more stupid than it was in its early days. I don’t care to watch that anymore. I used to love it. This is a serious show with good writing, excellent acting, great direction and I love the setting. I’ll be very disappointed if it gets cancelled. Give it a chance!!! they can never let a good thing continue!!!!! What more do we have to look forward to?
