This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.

This show is wonderful and I hope it isn’t cancelled. Unfortunately, it was poorly advertised and word didn’t get out quickly enough. Rather than cancel a team with such a great dynamic, put money into spreading the word and committ to another season. This show has what you need!
I really hope they give this show a second chancd as its a fantastic show and by far the best medical drama on network television.
Please do not cancel this series.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show!! Please find a way to save it! Even if it means talking NBC in to picking it up!!! I adore the story lines and the characters!!
I really hope they consider keeping A Gifted Man on for another season! It is one of my favorite shows! I think if the put it on in the right day and time slot it would really take off. There is nothing else quite like it. I will be sad to see it go…but hopefully that won’t happen!!
Both A Gifted Man & Blue Bloods are good shows. They are the shows I watch when I am home on Friday nights. If I do miss them I usually catch them OnDemand over the weekend. I think that is why the ratings are so low, Friday nights is a kiss of death to any show on Friday nights.
I LOVE this show. It is one of my favorites for the year. I really hope it stays on.
My husband both enjoyed the show we love NCIS’s Blue bloods and the like but it is nice to have something once in a while without all the action CBS has a tendancy to overdo good shows such as CSI. They good do away with CSI NY and put a gifted man back on.
Please bring this show back. It gets better every week!
Absolutely love this show. It’s so unique and unlike other medical shows. It combines the two worlds of medicine, the high end, all about money side, and the emotional, charitable side. Please keep this show! I love all these actors, esp Patrick Wilson
I just love the show too. I don’t think that they give us time enough to watch the shows. There are a lot of other great shows on at the same time on other networks, so it gets to be a real tossup to decide what to record, and then watch. I think if people want to watch it online that should count too, and they should broadcast it if they can. I love this show. I also loved the Medium, and Ghost Whisperer. They messed with that too. I like too much a gifted man, I think is a different content and interesting because we have a lot of police programs and the story is always the same, this show gives us another important point of view to see the life… I think you shoud keep this tv program and give it more support, we need other topics like this.

Please keep A Gifted Man. It is so hard to find good programs that actually have a plot. The networks don’t seem to give many of the new shows much of a chance to find an audience. All these stupid, don’t have to have a brain reality shows are cutting more and more into my viewing hours. I have cut off my cable and only have about 6 channels of which CBS is one. I actually love this show and will miss it a lot if they cancel it. A Gifted Man is the ONLY medical show I will watch. Never could get into ER or Grey’s Anatomy, but for some reason I enjoy watching this one. Needless to say I don’t want them to cancel it
