This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.

Please don’t cancel “A Gifted Man”. We look forward to this show every Friday and it is the best show on air. Very unique and great acting. We watch nearly all CBS shows and this one is one of the best. I think if you continue to run it more and more people will watch as word of mouth is the best advertisement!

Why cancel a good series with sexy and handsome actors like Patrick Wilson and Pablo Schreiber? Plus, Margo Martindale’s character, is a hard-charging, military-type Exec Asst that I would not even go up against….cry Uncle!
Please do not cancel. 8.5 million viewers? What’s wrong with that, you put all that vampire crap on for the kids. Keep an intellegent show on for people with brains.
I love A gifted Man!! I don”t have a television, so I watch it online. I haven’t missed a single episode. PLEASE don’t cancel this wonderful show!
I only recently “found” the show and have only seen a few episodes. I really like it and felt that the characters have been getting better each week. I would really like for it to have another chance in a more suitable time slot.
This show is great. The story lines are fascinating, the acting very well done.
Why doesn’t it get a larger audience? Perhaps the title of the show doesn’t define it well? or is it in the dreaded Friday night slot. We always watch it, and look forward to it. Would love to see more of it.

My husband and I will miss this one very much! There is not a lot of tv that we watch together. We can’t wait for Friday night to see what medical problems and relationships come about.
Love this show! Nobody gets shot at and nobody gets sent to jail. This is not just a “doctor” show. There is room to develop many of the characters and their relationships. Please renew!
Please DO Not cancel A Gifted Man! I love this show. I watch it On Demand because of the day and time it is on. Maybe moving it to another day would help.

DO NOT cancel this show. It is a great show. May be a different night would be better. I sometimes miss it on Fridays, but have On-Demand, so I don’t miss an episode. The cast is great, very good story lines too.
This is the best show. We will be hugely disappointed if it goes away. The characters are wonderful and the varying personalities/beliefs of those characters are meshing beautifully. The writing is superb. Please don’t cancel this show.
