This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.

I hope this show returns as it is one of my favorite shows. Only a few shows hold my interest and this is one of them. There are so many terrible shows on TV that it is refreshing to find one that you look forward to watching.
Please, please please bring it back.
We watch very few programs on the “broadcast” networks, but A Gifted Man is one of the exceptions. It is a great program! I cannot believe that its ratings have been so low. If CBS will not show it, please find another network that will do it justice.
THE BEST SHOW ON TV. SECOND TO NONE. THESE REALITY SHOWS ARE GARBAGE. TOO MUCH GARBAGE ON TV. A GOOD SHOW LIKE THE GIFTED MAN IS A VERY REFRESHING SHOW AND IF CBS CANCELS THIS SERIES, IT WOULD BE A BIG MISTAKE.
My favorite programs: The Good Wife, Harry’s Law, A GIFTED MAN, Blue Bloods and Smash. Please don’t cancel A Gifted Man. I don’t get it, all my friends love this show too.
Won’t watch CBS any longer if they cancel A Gifted Man. Only show on TV with any depth.
Please no do not cancel the show!!!! I look so forward each week to watching A Gifted Man every Friday night.
Maybe you could consider going to a differant Network to keep the show on the AIR. PLEASE….

Excellent show, much better than most of what is offered on TV today. Nuanced characters, it has been a pleasure to watch them develop and change over time. Interesting premise, has great potential to be developed further. I am apparently not in the majority that prefers blood, killings and gore, it would be a real disappointment to have this show cancelled.
Love the show. Good to have a show that is not stupid or blood and guts. So many shows now are about killing or reality. Nice to have a show to look forward to. Will realy hate to see it go.
Agreed! Tired of tasteless gore and war. Nice to come home to a touch of hope and humanity! High ratings has meant trivia and shallow epic nuances!
I hate to see this show cancelled. Please bring it back. This Dr is soooo sexy and the simmering romance with the (unavailable) blonde Dr….mmmm love it! You just can’t leave us hanging…what is she gonna do? Move with her husband, have an affair w Dr. Holt????? I’m a female viewer, over 50, telling all my girlfriends about the show….several were tuning in tonight to see what I’m talking about…can’t believe it’s not on??? I loved watching this on Fri nites, in cozy jammies and a yummy red wine…Please bring back Dr. Hot! ooops, Dr. Holt;)
So we looked forward to watching this show every week>>>>Never missed one….But of course a show that was of good taste would be removed……Thanks for the short veiwing of a VERY GOOD show……

Please don’t cancel this show! My husband and I both love this show. There aren’t many programs that we both like . This is one we both look forward to watching together.
Please do NOT cancel The Gifted Man!!!! It is definitely a show worth watching on Friday nights or any other day of the week for that matter. I went on vacation and had to come back and get caught up on the two episodes that I missed while gone before the next new episode. The Gifted Man is an AWESOME show and we look forward to each new episode. :o)
I absolutely love this show and it’s definitely my favorite medical tv show (moreso than Grey’s Anatomy!!) It’s way too good to be cancelled!! Maybe a different night of the week would get more viewers?
