This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.

PLEASE CBS!! Listen to the viewers. DO NOT CANCEL this show. Maybe you need the Nielsen Rating’s boxes in other houses!! You obviously have a hit on your hands and because you think it’s not getting enough viewers it should be canceled. But, that would be a big mistake. I have loved this show since day one, and watched every single episode over and over and over again. For once I seem to be in complete agreement with the masses here. This show is not only amazing, but obviously has a strong fan base, and deserves to be given a shot. I just hope and pray that they don’t renew it the way they did with Harry’s Law, where they completely mess it up so that nobody is watching by the end of a very choppy and hard to decipher season 2.
I admit the ghost of Anna was annoying but the show was otherwise very good and one of the few the whole family would watch. It may be a mistake to cut it without trying minor adjustment. The writing is good as are the characters.

Best show on TV right now. Quality acting and great story line. CBS, please give the show more time to prove themselves. Viewers absolutely want them renewed.
PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW. IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRAMAS. Tonight I rushed home from work just to see it and find out The Mentalist, which I have become bored with, was in its place. I was very disappointed. I came on my computer to find out what was up. That is why I am writing this response to your questions asking what I think. This is one show that should be given a chance. I went crazy looking for this show tonigh I have it programer to be recorder and I didn’t find it I start to look the reason I just hope it wont be cancel I really love the show

How can CBS consider cancelling this series? It is one of the best shows on TV and obviously under-appreciated. Once you watch the show, you will be hooked. We are ss disappointed to hear that this seies may fall by the wayside.
This was my favorite show on TV. I looked for it tonight and was very disappointed to find it is canceled. I hope there is a way to save it. It was a great balance of action and romance. The medical and social aspect added depth to the show and the ghost/ spiritual aspect showed promise for adding a new dimension. I hope another network is smart enough to pick it up.

Please do not cancel this show. I wait all week for Friday, if this show is cancelled, I will not watch the rest of Cbs on Friday nites. This and Blue Blood are the best shows on Cbs/. Big mistake to cancel.
I absolutely agree with you. This was my absolute favorite show. I would look forward to this show all week. It was intelligent, had multi-dimensional characters, and interesting juxtapositions, tensions, and conflicts. I am so, so upset and disappointed. I also have no more reason to watch CBS.
