This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.

I LOVE THT SHOW I MEAN I LOVE THE CHARACTERS STORY LINE THERE R TO MANY SHOWS ON FRIDAYS PUT IT ON SATURDAYS AT WORST BUT PLSS DO NOT CANCEL THE SHOW I WOULD HATE FOR IT TO BE CANCELED THEY DID THE SAME THING WITH LIE TO ME AND THEY CANCELLED IT AFTER 3 SEASON TO PUT CHICAGO CODE AND LOOK 1 SEASON IT GOT CANCELLED SO PLS DONT CANCEL IT !!!!!
I love this show.. please do not cancel.. This show is great… I hope recorded shows count on the ratings. I make sure i record this show every Friday and watch on saturday morning. Please reconsider, this show is one of the best shows on tv right now.
Keep A GIFTED MAN! Even with it being on Friday night, I managed to watch every episode and love this show and the characters! There is plenty of other trash that you can get rid of. PLEASE, PLEASE keep this good show!
This was one of my favorite show. It has a great story line. Please don’t cancel it. The reality shows are not worth watching.
my own worst enemy was my favorite and so was the gifted man. apparently what I like must challenge most americans to observe and think. The shows that work have a lot of fake laughter and sillyness to them
Finally they give us a moral and just story line (no more reality shows please) and they are considering cancelling. Quality shows never seem to last any more. The moronic
reality shows watched by the”flock of sheep” are made obviously beause they are much cheaper to produce, but we have had enough. Bring back Gifted Man and CSI: NY. Good actors and good stories.
It was a show that i really looked forward to… Please bring it back on air…Clever and compelling narrative and what an amazing transformation he was going through…Please don’t cut it off so abruptly…Seeing people make a difference is inspirational . If the timing was changed it would be watched by many more. I always watched it on 1010…because the timing was terrible for me. I’d love to see more!!!
The show would have drawn a larger audience if it had been scheduled a different day and time. I enjoyed it very much. Not the usual tired whodunit. I hope it will be renewed for next seasons line up.
Please do not cancel. It is one of the few programs that are different.
One of the best shows! I think it gives you a feeling of there are still a lot of good people with good and kind hearts in this world. I looked forward to see the show every Friday night. I agree with Connie that may be it was not on the right night. Please try to move the show to different night instead of cancell it.
I loved the show. I don’t like to watch too many medical shows, being in the business, but I loved all the characters and the story line. I was stunned when it was not on. I do not watch a lot of TV shows, but this one I looked forward to. Granted , the leading man is gorgeous, but the story line intrigued me. Never was bored. I just don’t think it was on the right night. Maybe earlier in the week. I hope it does not get cancelled.
Gifted man is the BEST. Why do the good shows that have good themes and arent all sexual innuendos on the hit list?

Please do not cancel this show!!!! It is one of the best shows on TV. I am not sure of being on Friday night but it is so well written. I look forward to seeing every week. I am really tired of seeing reality shows. If cancelled, I guess I will read more and watch TVless.
