This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.

What a shame if the “Gifted Man” is dropped. Finally a show that lets kids today see how important it is to help your fellow man, not just by writing a check. A wealthy doctor is learning how to care for the poor, and this show may end. Don’t we see enough violence on TV? I sure hope they re-consider.
We were just talking about “A Gifted Man” at work today. We are missing it already. Please don’t cancel this show. I loved “Ghost Whisperer” and lost it. Now I have finally found something I look forward to about as much. PLEASE don’t take “A Gifted Man” off the air.
My husband and I both enjoy A Gifted Man and feel that it has constantly improved since the beginning episode last September. Please give it more time to find a larger audience.

Please please do not cancel The Gifted Man. It is one of the best and least violent shows
on CBS.
My family and I thoroughly enjoy this very intelligent drama. We would be extremely disappointed if it is not renewed for another season.
Pleas dont cancel A Gifted Man!!!!!!!!!!!! I love that show and it is about the only show that doesn’t encourage sex and other things. it is about the only appropriate and interesting show i have ever seen. Please dont cancel it!!!!!!! I would volunteer personally in helping with advertising if that would mean the difference between it being canceled or not. I would appreciate it greatly if you PLEASE DONT CANCLE A GIFTED MAN!!! CBS, you are displeasing about 1 million people!!
Don’t cancel it. It is one of the few decent shows on. One of the few with real and pertinent content.

I live in Canada and adore A Gifted Man. I swore after CBS had cancelled Three Rivers I would never give another one of their shows a chance. But when I Saw an ad for A Gifted Man I decided to give a chance. I started watching and never looked back. I never missed an episode. Patrick Wilson is so dreamy, and Margo Martindale are amazing together. And now just when it starts to get going with Patrick and Rachelle itès over. I love GIFTED MAN , I watch it every week. Please don’t cancel this show. I watch very little TV, and CBS does like to cancel popular shows.
Please don’t cancel A Gifted Man
I am a gifted man fan!!! At first there were other shows I liked better– he was too rigid and sure of his perfection and superiority. But a few 3 or 4 weeks in , knowing more about his wife and the new dr, and his assts you could see his perfection doubted leading to all sorts of possibilities. I am tired of all the crime and true medicine dramas, please do not cancel!!!!
