This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.
What do you think? Are you sorry to see A Gifted Man leave the schedule? Why do you think it didn’t catch on with a bigger audience?

I love this show and now it looks like it’s going to be cancelled. If the network had tried putting it on another night, it might have taken off, but no they just cancelled it instead. yest Survivor is still on after 20 years. Go figure!
love the show … I will be very sad if they canceled it 🙁
My daughters and I absolutely LOVE the show and look forward to watching more…..please don’t cancel this show!!
It is a good show, hope it does not get cancelled
Please do not cancel this show. There are too many “reality” shows already and I’m afraid the powers-that-be will cancel this wonderful drama and replace it with some mind-numbing sitcom or fake real drama.
This mine and my husband’s favorite show and TV. It has drama and a lot of heart. Great cast of characters. Please don’t cancel.
I should hope they find a way to keep this show on tv. It is one of my favorite and the stories and the actors are just fantastic!
Please don’t cancel–This is a very good show for all the families. Great stories.
It is my favorite TV show! Please don’t cancel this amazing show!
One of the few shows I truly enjoy! Please don’t cancel it
I hardly watch television and A Gifted Man
is the only show I watch regularly. Please
DON’T cancel it.
This is a really great show and one of my favorites. I just can’t believe with the Friday night lineup avalaible on other networks that this show would be cancelled. When I see the “reality” shows that go on year after year it amazes me that a show like this would be cancelled. Come on CBS try moving it to a different night like Wednesday when the pickings are thin.
The relationship ties and emotions felt by the audiance is outstanding. I found this show to be contagious as once I got into it I could not stop watching. The cast is outstanding.
PLEASE …. PLEASE…. DON’T CANCEL THE GIFTED MAN….. IT’S MY FAVORITE SHOW!!

This is one of the best shows that’s been on TV in a LONG LONG TIME….

Great actors…. great stories..
