This evening marks the last episode of A Gifted Man of the season. Will the TV show be back for a second season or will it be cancelled by CBS?
A Gifted Man follows the life of Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson), a talented but selfish surgeon who begins to change his point of view after being visited by the spirit of his deceased ex-wife. The cast also includes Jennifer Ehle, Margo Martindale, Liam Aiken, Julie Benz, Pablo Schreiber, Rachelle Lefevre, Afton Williamson, Eriq La Salle, and Mike Doyle.
The show premiered in September to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.45 million total viewers. Week two saw Gifted Man drop to a 1.2 in the demo and 8.18 million. The numbers stayed at those levels for several weeks but then perked up to a 1.3 in the demo. Rather than give the series a full season order, CBS added just three installments.

Last month, CBS moved the show to 9pm. The time change seemed to help the first week but last Friday’s installment dropped back to the usual 1.3 demo rating. Undercover Boss, which took over the 8pm timeslot, has been doing significantly better than the drama.
The season to date has a 1.3 demo average with 8.50 million total viewers. It’s CBS’ weakest drama in both the demographic and total viewers, even when you adjust for the Friday night timeslot. To put things in perspective, Medium was cancelled with a 1.4 demo average.
If A Gifted Man was on NBC, the network would no doubt be considering a renewal. That’s not the case of course. CBS has the largest number of successful shows and, for whatever reason, A Gifted Man just didn’t find a big enough audience. It’s sure to be cancelled sometime between now and May.

I hope they don’t cancel this show. It’s the only thing I watch on Friday nights. I just don’t think Friday nights are good for TV watching. Too many people do other things after a long work week. I just turned the show on to my Mother who knew never heard of the show. She loves it too!
I was A Gifted Man fan from epizode 1. I do not like the time change, but I’ll follow A Gifted Man anywhere, any time. Please, please, CBS…show some smart and keep this show.

I guess it must be because it doesn’t have vampires or some other supernatural blood thirsty things on it. It is one of the best family show’s out here. there just isn’t enough nice good show’s for family’s to see anymore. I agree with Dee – the Friday night line-up of A Gifted Man, CSI NY and Blue Bloods was excellent. I’m even OK with Undercover Boss as the lead-in to A Gifted Man. I’m just so afraid that yet another show I’ve come to enjoy will be cancelled (Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies come to mind). Please don’t cancel one of my husband and my favorite shows. It hasn’t gotten enough exposure. Rita is great, Michael is super with this role. The entire cast is so good. There is so much trash on tv, this is not one of them. Keep it on, until it finds a larger audience.
This is a very nice series, I do not think it should be cancelled. I can’t wait for it to come on and really enjoy it. The acting is great and the story lines are also interesting. Please give it the chance it deserves.

please dont cancel this show, my wife and i enjoy it very much its one of our favorite shows on tv . we think its one of the best new shows to come on for a long time.
We also enjoy Person of Interest . CBS always has the best shows on tv.

Man that is a drag! I agree with other person that A Gifted Man is one of the few shows I look forward to also. I am sick of reality shows and stupid pointless, supposedly comedic sitcoms with many references that have sexual connitations and cussing. Also sick of Cialis commercials! My 12 year old doesn’t need to formulate those images in her mind.
My family and I just love this show, it is about time something decent is on TV, please do not cancel this show. It is time for the CSI’s to go with the exception of NCIS– think about taking them off and Keep this show!

I came into this show in the middle of the season. I really like it. Agree that I’m getting sick of the csi’s and reality shows. Gifted man is different than grey’s anatomy and ER, really enjoy the cast. I think it needs more exposure – I only found it by accident.
