Lifetime has decided that neither of its freshman dramas are worthy of a second season. The cable channel cancelled The Protector in September and they’ve now canned Against the Wall as well.
Against the Wall stars Rachael Carpani as Abby Kowalski, a single cop who joins the Chicago department’s internal affairs division. The series’ co-stars include Andrew Walker, Brandon Quinn, Chris Johnson, Daniel Kash, James Thomas, Kathy Baker, Marisa Ramirez, Mayko Nguyen, Steve Byers, and Treat Williams.
Debuting on July 31st, the show attracted a mediocre 1.8 million viewers with a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic, about on par with The Protector. Unfortunately, the numbers didn’t improve throughout the season. The 12th and 13th episodes (now the show’s last) aired on October 23rd. They each drew 1.4 million viewers and 0.4 demo ratings.
Lifetime recently ordered 10 more episodes of successful (and likely ending) Army Wives and also has Drop Dead Diva to help launch new shows. The cable channel has ordered The Client List, with Jennifer Love Hewitt reprising her role from the successful movie. Lifetime also has a few pilots on tap like Modern Love starring Eric Stoltz, American Housewife with Melanie Griffith, and Sworn To Secrecy, a movie and back-door pilot that stars Neve Campbell.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Against the Wall won’t be back for a second season? Why do you think the drama didn’t catch on?

I am really mad. The way it ended, how are we ever going to know who she picked???? I may not watch lifetime again for this one.
I don’t understand why you would do this! this was an awesome show- The characters were so great loved the fact that the whole family sticks together why do you keep shows that don’t make sense there are so many out there. Will you least let us know who Abby picked? Quit canceling the good shows
I loved Against The Wall. I thought it was a great show. I also liked the Protector. Can’t believe we are stuck with only reality TV. What is there for non reality show people?
you guys suck for canceling this show!!!!!! I loved it and was looking forward to seeing more and couldn’t wait to see who Abby picked. I agree with cristi you guys cancel the good shows and leave the ones that suck going!!!
i will never watch lifetime again for cancelling this series
Very disappointing. This is the only show on Lifetime worth watching. All of those “reality” shows are so disgusting and ridiculous to watch. Please bring back the quality entertainment that Against the Wall provided.
This sucks. Against the Wall was one of my favorite shows, I was really excited for it to start back up. It was one show I couldnt stop watching. I would even record it to rewatch it in case my baby boy had gotten fussy during the show.
I was so looking forward to seeing who she picked ob against the wall please bring it back some need to b smart and pick them up.
My husband and I were very disappointed that ATW was cancelled. It was such a joy to see Treat Williams on a weekly show. This show not only had an incredible cast, but was great for the entire family. What a shame that we will never know who was on the other side of Abby’s door. Would love to see season two. Perhaps a better time slot would help. Definitely one of my favorite shows of all time.
Bring the show back! It was great!
Against the Wall was a favorite of ours! Please bring it back.
THIS SUCKS
I think Lifetime sucks for canceling Against the Wall. It was a great show. Just because it does not make them a killing, doesn’t mean that the veiwers don’t like it. Lifetime, you are canceling some great shows and putting on some crappy ones. Like all those reality shows. Like there is not enough of them already!!
You all need to bring this show back. If so many people are upset from its cancellation, why not reconsider? At least try a test run to see if the ratings improve, because everyone wants to know who Abby chose.
Please bring back Against the wall… I am so disappointed. It seems like all the great shows are cancelled and trash tv gets renewed.
