Lifetime has decided that neither of its freshman dramas are worthy of a second season. The cable channel cancelled The Protector in September and they’ve now canned Against the Wall as well.
Against the Wall stars Rachael Carpani as Abby Kowalski, a single cop who joins the Chicago department’s internal affairs division. The series’ co-stars include Andrew Walker, Brandon Quinn, Chris Johnson, Daniel Kash, James Thomas, Kathy Baker, Marisa Ramirez, Mayko Nguyen, Steve Byers, and Treat Williams.
Debuting on July 31st, the show attracted a mediocre 1.8 million viewers with a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic, about on par with The Protector. Unfortunately, the numbers didn’t improve throughout the season. The 12th and 13th episodes (now the show’s last) aired on October 23rd. They each drew 1.4 million viewers and 0.4 demo ratings.
Lifetime recently ordered 10 more episodes of successful (and likely ending) Army Wives and also has Drop Dead Diva to help launch new shows. The cable channel has ordered The Client List, with Jennifer Love Hewitt reprising her role from the successful movie. Lifetime also has a few pilots on tap like Modern Love starring Eric Stoltz, American Housewife with Melanie Griffith, and Sworn To Secrecy, a movie and back-door pilot that stars Neve Campbell.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Against the Wall won’t be back for a second season? Why do you think the drama didn’t catch on?

Of course they canceled it the main actress was smart and had a job. Did you see the shows they kept all the women in these shows are stupid and drop the women down a scale. I am so disappointed with Lifetime I am no longer watching that channel!!!
i use to stay up on sundays to watch this show but lifetime wanna cancel i am extremely disappointed please bring this show back please i love abbby
Finally a drama instead of a stupid reality show. Just when I got hooked!!Big mistake cancelling it!!!!!!!!
Man I have been waiting and waiting for this show to come back on. I can’t believe they cut such a great show. This was one of my favs. I say bring it back! My husband and I always watched it.
I cant believe they canceled this show. The way they left it to at that. My mom and I have been trying to guess who she was going to choose and I went to look up to see when it comes back on and this is what I find out. There are very few shows out there right now that I like and this was one and they canceled it. what a shame!!
why get rid of against the wall and keep dance moms???!!! Really!!
Loved Against the wall. There are some ridiculous shows out there. Why do they keep canning the good ones! That last episode was such a cliffhanger. It was shaping up to be a great Season 2. Any disappointed Against the Wall fan.
I really enjoyed watching “Against the Wall” and “The Protector”. Lifetime has great shows, and these were definitely two of the great ones.
What a shame. This was a great show. Being from Chicago, and a Bears fan, it was always fun to see those things in this show. The storyboard was interesting and will be missed!
Are you kidding! Please reconsider your decision. This was an awesome show. My husband and I enjoyed watching this show together. We love Army Wives and Against The Wall. There aren’t many shows that keep everyone’s attention. I don’t think you realize what you have done. Think it over and please bring it back.
Please bring back. Against The Wall!!!!!!!!!!!
My hubby & I LOVED Against the Wall! I hate that they have cancelled it. Bring it back!!!
I think it completely stinks that Lifetime canceled this show! I agree that everyone seems to keep the crap shows and gets rid of the great ones. Against the wall was my favorite new show last year out of the soooo many new shows out there. Army Wives is just about the only good show lifetime has now other than reruns of old episodes of the other good shows that have been cut from the air. I am EXTREMELY disappointed!!!!!!!
Very upset that this show is not renewing! i believe this is a huge mistake on Lifetimes part!
I am beyond mad that the show is cancel this was one of my favorite shows
