Earlier this year, the TLC series American Chopper was cancelled after six seasons on the air. The series reportedly came to an end as a result of tensions between Paul Teutul Sr. and his son, Paul Jr. The series finale aired on February 11th.
But now, there’s word that the show is coming back for a seventh season, with both father and son on-board. Junior has apparently opened a new shop of his own that’s near the original.
He hasn’t spoken to his father in over a year and told the NY Post, “I’m always hopeful for a reconciliation, but sometimes these things happen for a reason… Even though you never want dissension in any family, especially with your father, this has allowed me to break out and do things on my own.”
Paul Sr. wasn’t quite as philosophical and said, “Junior seems to say all the time he’d like to reconcile, but the thing of it is, he’s never come to me with that… I’m happy he’s making an attempt to go out on his own, but I don’t feel he’s ever really followed through with anything in his life. But this way, if he fails, he can’t say, ‘My dad made me fail.'”
The plan is to film both of the Teutul shops and include footage from both in each episode. Filming will begin next week and the new season is expected to debut in August.
What do you think? Are you happy to hear that American Chopper is coming back?
UPDATE: It was later revealed that the Teutuls were actually returning in a spin-off, American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior.

Nobody can disagree that Sr is the one that started the buisness way back when. You would also have to agree that the show itself would of never made it on the air for one second, if it was not for Jr. Mikey and Vinnie. It’s sad to see a family in turmoil like this. It’s probably the best thing for Jr though. He now has the chance to prove to himself , his dad, and anyone else that has any doubts about him and his talents. Good luck to you Jr. Good luck with the buisness and please……. No… Read more »
I think the most important thing here is family, it breaks my heart as much as I love this show and admire what they do family comes first.
I agree with most people that like the show. I think it’s a good show but I would rather have Paul Jr., Vinnie, Mickie, and Rick be the only ones filmed because if you really listen to the things that Paul Sr says sometime it seems like he is just wanting to yell at Paul Jr. just because he has more talent than his dad and everyone looks up to Paul Jr for help on bikes and not Sr.
I am happy the show is back and look forward to seeing jr and Vinnie create bikes.
Am sick of Paul Sr. on a rampage.
What about Rick? He’s the MAN. Duh. Did you see the bike he got to build for himself? Yo.
Everyone is down on Sr. Why? Was it Jr that started the buisness or Sr?Yes Sr is a hothead, but thats what TV wanted. Jr needs to remember, all the guys at OCC make it sucsessful. Yes Jr makes some awsome bikes for the show, but thats not all the bikes that are being built. OCC builds and sells alot of bikes that are built by a,”circus group of yes men just happy to have jobs.” If everyone is actually watching the bike building, alot of those same guys help with the production and assembly of Jr’s masterpieces. Jr signed… Read more »

I think both Paul’s are great people in life. I just think Paul Sr. went overboard with his rages against his OWN son. We all know that OCC is garbage without Paul Jr. His imagination and fabrications were state of the art. Can’t believe Paul Sr would dump out his own son on a business. I can’t wait for the new show to start! Bring back Vinnie and switch Rick over to Paul Jr’s shop.
It was funny for a few years. Then Vinnie could not handle that crap anymore. The staged fights and the real fights. Mikey is a real piece of work, no talent and no ambition. Just a big fat spoiled kid. Jr., he thinks his crap doesn’t stink, has some talent, and a gold digger girl friend. Sr. with the crooked fu man chu, (really look at it some time) has to run a business, which he has built into an empire at the expense of his relationships with all his sons. Was it worth it? At the end I would… Read more »
Please tell me TLC is not going to wake this sleeping dog. The old mare, she ain’t what she used to be. They made the right call in February, American Chopper has run its course. No one, especially me, wants to watch that Jon + Kate plus eight – minus one recycled drama drama style crap show centered around a pompous @ss like that. He ran off his own flesh and blood only to replace them with a circus group of yes men just happy to have jobs, with the exception of Rick. Poor Rick, someone needs to hire him… Read more »
Jr is talented but spoiled, Mikey is just spoiled. Sr. knows how and what it takes to run a business, the kids in the show haven’t a clue
Much to Paul Srs ego problem, TLC has made a wise decision to drop the show. Paul Jr, Mikey and Vinnie made this show a hit. The new cast is lacking the personality and originality to choppers. Sr needs to pull his head out of his behind and realize that he is nothing without his sons….they made him what he is today. How could a father turn his back on his own kids and team up with a bunch of misfits. I will watch the new show ONLY to see Paul Jr. Maybe TLC will realize that a new show… Read more »
Reply to CCH about a Jr. show.
Just what I want to see, Paul Jr. do another charcoal grill or dog park.
I think the party is over.

I would love to see a show centered around Jr. and Mikey, maybe they can bring in Vinnie as well. Hopefully we wont see to much of Paul Sr. and his roid rage. Paul SR. will cry over his dogs illness but none of his children talk to him, hmmmm think that one through. I am loving the idea of Jr. Chopper bring it on.
