Edgar Ramirez and Darren Criss will star in the third season of the American Crime Story TV show on FX. Ramirez will play slain fashion designer, Gianni Versace. Criss has taken the role of his killer, Andrew Cunanan, whose murderous crime spree ended in suicide in 1997. Tom Rob Smith will executive produce with Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, and Brad Falchuk.
American Crime Story Casts Season Three Roles of Gianni Versace and Andrew Cunanan
As previously reported, Versace: American Crime Story, will shoot at the same time as the second installment of the FX true crime drama anthology, which focuses on Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.
The Wrap reports, “The first two episodes of the 10-episode [Versace] season will be written by Tom Rob Smith, with story based on the book Vulgar Favors by Maureen Orth. Murphy, who directed multiple episodes of People v. O.J., will direct the first episode of both ‘Versace/Cunanan’ and ‘Katrina’.”
