American Gods has some new players. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Crispin Glover and Jonathan Tucker have been cast in the upcoming Starz drama.
The series is based on the 2001 fantasy novel by Neil Gaiman.
Set in a world where gods and mythological figures really exist, American Gods centers on Shadow (Ricky Whittle), an ex-con who is hired as a bodyguard for the mysterious Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane).
Glover has been cast as “Mr. World, the seemingly omniscient leader at the center of the New Gods coalition, sometimes more challenged by his own subordinates than his enemies.” Meanwhile, Tucker will play Shadow’s philosophical prison mate, Low Key Lyesmith.
The two join other cast members Emily Browning, Sean Harris, and Yetide Badaki. Bryan Fuller and Gaiman are producing.
