There will be a little less American Idol on FOX this season. The Thursday results show will be cut from an hour to 30 minutes. The results show has been an hour since the program began in 2002.
With Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez, and Keith Urban as judges, season 13 of American Idol will debut on January 15th and 16th with a pair of two-hour episodes. Once the in-studio competition begins, the Thursday episode will be 30 minutes.
Ryan Seacrest is returning as host and former judge Randy Jackson will now be an in-house mentor to contestants.
What do you think? Do you plan on watching Idol this season? What do you think of the group of judges? A good choice?
I’ve been watching Idol since it started and I really enjoy it. I think it has a good mix of judges now. Of course, I love JLo. I really wish they would shorten the showing of the audition part (especially the silly non-singers). Once it got down to about 12, I could have gone on watching it for a long time. It’s still a popular show and so many of the singers are really very talented. I like the Voice, too, but the 2 shows are very different.
I love to watch this season.because a greta and talented artist like Jennifer Lopez is as judge and she proved last time that is a very great judge.
keith is great too and nothing know about harry.
can’t wait.
I like this line up so much better than last year. Sounds like a good plan.
I also hope there are plans to cut out some of the crazy ones. Maybe just have one show dedicated to crazy acts and then the rest of the initial competition focus on the true talent.
I have been a dedicated fan for ALL seasons and truly love to watch the talent and keep up with those that have made successful careers. This show has produced more successful stars than any other talent show in history.
