TV show description:
This dramatic thriller series takes place in 1967 in Los Angeles, two years before the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders of 1969.
LAPD Homicide Detective Sam Hodiak (David Duchovny) is a decorated World War II vet who barely recognizes the city that he’s now policing. Long hair, cheap drugs, rising crime, protests, free love, police brutality, Black Power, and the Vietnam War are all radically remaking the world that he and the Greatest Generation saved from fascism some 20 years ago.
Emma Karn (Emma Dumont), the 16-year-old daughter of a former girlfriend, goes missing in a sea of hippies and Hodiak agrees to find her. He faces only hostility, distrust and silence. He enlists the help of Brian Shafe (Grey Damon), a young and idealistic undercover vice cop who’s been allowed to grow his hair out. Shafe infiltrates this new counterculture to find her.
The generational conflict between the two is immediate and heated, yet they’re both dedicated officers. They soon realize that the need to bring Emma home is more urgent than they first thought. She has joined a small but growing band of drifters under the sway of a career criminal who dreams of being a rock star — Charles Manson (Gethin Anthony).
Episode #26 — I Will
A newly “retired” Hodiak tracks down the serial killer who has been tormenting him for months, without the protection and authority of his police position. Manson sends Tex, Sadie, Emma, and Patty to 10050 Cielo Drive, where they are swept up in one of the most infamous crimes in the country’s history.
First aired: September 10, 2016
What do you think? Do you like the Aquarius TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
loved the first season can’t wait for the second
Loved it and can’t wait until next season! My husband and i watched the entire series please don’t leave us hanging…
I tried to watch the 1st episode and was totally disappointed with the perversions on prime time TV. Made it part way through, but it went from bad to worse and I changed to another program. I liked David Dechovny in the X-Files, but I won’t be watching this trash TV show. Where has decent family shows gone to? I’m no prude, but anyone with children shouldn’t expose them to this type of junk. If I can’t watch it with a child, then It’s not fit to see for me either. Disappointed!!!!!!
Then parents should be monitoring what their children watch. The fact it is too graphic for YOU doesn’t make it trash TV for everyone.
Love the show…love the music…love the 60’s cars…and fashions. I dont feel this is glorifying Manson…I lived through the 50s and 60s. This really happened and the Manson saga was part of it. He and his sordid family got theirs…and I am sure he will get his in the series..I enjoy this series very much!!
Great show love the fact that the whole first season came to hulu. With the economy the way it is who has money for cable or dish, both needing boxes or satellites. your bill jumps after a year, and whats up with all these unexplained fees, ugh. all you need now it is Hulu and Netflix and
I loved watching Aquarius! Couldn’t stop! Hope it comes back next season. Acting is great and filmed in the 60’s love that! Duchovny didn’t disappoint. Enjoyed watching him in Californication and now in Aquarius. Please don’t cancel!
If you actually watched it, they portray him as the manical beast he is and you immediately hate him but he is a product of a very poor upbringing and has continual feelings of grandeur and you just feel sorry for how pathetic he really is. It doesn’t glorify Manson at all but just shows how pathetic and crazy he was. How wrote songs and thought he was going to be as famous as the Beatles. He was coo coo. Concerning the show, The acting is great, the clothing and music is fun so it is great show. Plus, those… Read more »
I tuned into the show late. What I witnessed was a graphic male rape. I was shocked. This is not appropriate at 9:35 p.m., or at any other time of day. I did not stay with the show after that. I am sure that the actors are doing great job, but I remember the Manson murders, the trials, the assassination attempt on the president, etc. This is not a subject that needs any more glorification. I would like to know who the sponsors were last night, so that I can make my opinion known to them also.
I agree and will not watch a show that glorifies Charles Manson no matter what type of childhood he had. Many of us grew up in abusive homes and didn’t go around raping and killing people. I grew up in the 60s, loved it and still love the music today. Many times I wish I could time travel back to that era.
Watched it, was impressed at the reality of the era. If you weren’t there you have no reference. Don’t be too quick to judge. It was the first episode. Everyone is so critical of something that has yet to even show us the layers and which way it’s going to go. If you’ve done any research at all you wold realize that this is about the year before the Manson/LaBianca Murders even occurred. Manson was on LAPD’s radar but not as a murderer. Pimp, petty thief, he also ran with the Beach Boys and at one time and was in… Read more »
I haven’t watched it yet but plan to today. I think they should have hunted for a really creepy guy who was short and freaky looking, too. Let’s hope they captured the 60’s. I definitely remember when that happened so……
I like Aquarius. I hope it does good.
I do not believe this show will make it. I give it 1 season. Ibet they will paint themselves into corners. Might possibly do better on another network. NBC has gone to the dogs.
I thought they did too when the canceled Revolution, the best show on TV ever. But when Game of Silence airs in mid-season they will be back on track.
This is about the most irresponsibly evil project to be imposed on TV to date! Given that movies and TV series in general keep trying to push the envelope with crime and gore, I have no idea how lurid this production will be….but I won’t be watching it. I will, however, be more than happy to forward my thoughts to whoever sponsors it. There are too many glory-seeking perpetrators in the viewing public (NETWORK, no less!) who would be unduly fascinated and influenced by the details. Manson, a career criminal and mass murderer, is alive today ONLY because the California… Read more »
Spot on! When did writers and producers become so desperate and lacking in original thought that they needed to glorify an evil sociopath and devil worshipper, calling it “entertainment.” What could the people running NBC be thinking? Certainly not they bear responsibility for inciting gore and violence, and for pleasing Charles Manson by bringing even more attention to him. At the time of the murders I was a teenager, staying home alone (parents on vacation) less than 5 miles from the Tate and LaBianca properties. To this day, the mere mention of the monster’s name brings on an icy chill.… Read more »
I’m waiting to see it. I’m thinking though that it’s going to really be something special or it’ll die soon because it’ll just be a bunch of us old Hippies who were around during those times. It’ll be a kick to see if they get it right or go over board depicting that era like others have.
I’m glad to see Dave D. Finally move on. His last show (Califorication) was done a few seasons back, but someone didn’t get the hint.
I was looking forward to this too. It is my era. But when they mentioned Manson, that turned me off. If they do not refer to him much, it might be good.
Good comment, i am wondering the same things, as someone who turned 18 in the spring of 1967 and headed straight for Haight Ashbury in the Summer of Love, the wonderful and amazing effects of which will never wear off, for better and for worse. This show is coming in in 5 minutes and i’m ready to check it out.
It would have been really great and I would have watched it, if not for reference to Manson. He is not worthy to be mentioned. Other wise I bet it would be cool.
please bring this back it was my era and manson is a big part of the show people have to realize this thank you
