Will the mystery be solved in the first season of the Barkskins TV show on National Geographic? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Barkskins is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the first season episodes of Barkskins here.
A National Geographic historical fiction drama, Barkskins is based on the novel of the same name by Annie Proulx. The show stars David Thewlis, Marcia Gay Harden, Aneurin Barnard, James Bloor, Christian Cooke, David Wilmot, Thomas M. Wright, Tallulah Haddon, Kaniehtiio (Tiio) Horn, Lily Sullivan, and Zahn McClarnon. The series examines the mysterious massacre of settlers in the vast and unforgiving wilds of 1690s New France. This event threatens to throw the region into an all-out war. Likely suspects abound – the English, the Hudson’s Bay Company, and a band of Kanien’kehá:ka (Iroquois) possibly in league with the English looking to drive the French from the territory. But, who or what brought these settlers to such a tragic end?

Barkskins is an intelligent and captivating series with well crafted characters brought to life by stellar portrayals. A television production that is both entertaining and educational, chronicling a chapter in the development of North America that has been primarily unexamined. Barkskins is a masterful show – excellent acting, gripping story – one of the best shows I’ve seen on TV in a long time. Interesting, vibrant – truly enjoyable. I read the book and know there is so much more to come – endless possibilities for many more seasons!! Looking forward to season two.

I truly hope that the “Powera That Be” at National Geographic will continue this historical drama! There are far too few exceptional shows currently airing! Please, bring it back for a second season!

Please do another season! This show is great and has become our new favorite! Accuracy of the characters and scenery are on point. Action scenes are intense! Cinematography is perfect! Keeps you glued to the TV. Two thumbs up!
I really hope that there is a second season of Barkskins! We are left wondering what happened? Who lived? Who died? I love historical fiction and this series seems very authentic and historically factual. Donna P.

Barkskins is a Masters Class for phenomenal Acting! The attention to detail in the set design and period costuming is extraordinary. It is such a pleasure to watch this most satisfying series that others pale in comparison. The writers have given me an understanding of History and have satisfied a gamut of emotions in every episode. Kudos to the folks who have been responsible for this Series of unforgettable characters. Please continue the Series for the future for we’re all waiting with baited breath!
Absolutely loved it! Each episode left me wanting more. My husband and I would watch it together, and discuss what was happening. I truly truly hope there will be a second season. Furthermore, I hope the show is nominated for awards, it certainly deserves it in my opinion.

I have been tracing my ancestry and I am the descendant of Filles du Roi and Carignan Soldiers. Up to the mid-1970s my family occuptation was trapping and the timber industry so “Barkskins” fits into my family history. I am able to imagine what living conditions were like in New France. . . Quebec as it was being settled. A lot of the cultural traditions have been passed down to me and I easily recognize and appreciate them now.

The best series I’ve seen in a longtime. Always look forward to Monday night. The show leaves you on the edge of your seat with every episode. Second season can’t get here fast enough. Love these shows about real historical events
