CBS has had mixed success with their new crime dramas this season. NCIS: New Orleans has been renewed for a second season while Stalker has been dropped from the schedule and may likely be cancelled. What will happen to Battle Creek? Stay tuned.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: CBS has cancelled the Battle Creek series midway through its first season.
Final season averages: 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.12 million total viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I think this show is refreshing. It’s one the whole family can watch. By it is on so late? Please rethink canceling the show.
Battle Creek has been one of two favorite shows this season and one, if given a fair chance, might likely grow in popularity…the comedic relationship between the two main characters is not only funny but a refreshing change from most of the tv shows now available.
I am so disappointed with those in charge who won’t give such a promising show more time to earn a following…they all can’t be instant hits!
Terrific ensemble cast and concept. I look forward to this show every week. Hope it can return!
This show is great! It has something for everyone that is, tall, short, male, female, black, white, asian, middle eastern and whatever I’ve left out. One of the better shows on television, funny and touching.
This show is hilarious! Every adult in our family LOVES this show!!…if we are unable to watch during air times (because of work or school ) we use our On Demand feature for sure. The show has great chemistry between ALL the cast members. We were just talking about that the other morning –yes, we talk about the show because we like it–and we look forward to seeing it. It is a very funny show . I never understand where the network gets their polling info–Drop the Good Wife and keep Battle Creek! ….just sayin’…
This show is hilarious and I want to keep watching it. My mom and dad record it for me so I can watch it since it is on after my bedtime on Sundays because I am still in school. I can’t wait to watch the recordings!
I love this show , keep it up !
The channel should certainly reconsider. I’m honestly surprised that the ratings are so low for such a great show. Battle Creek is unpredictable and thoroughly enjoyable. Sorry to see it end so early.
I am 64. I ENJOY BATTLE CREEK!!
My husband and I really enjoy watching this show. I’m beginning to think that I might as well wait for tv shows to show up on Netflix, etc, and binge watch them, cause I obviously have NO idea what constitutes a great show.
Battle Creek should not be cancelled . . .absolutely love it . . .acting, story, chemistry with actors . . .outstanding!!!
In an era where two broke girls can be given another season, surely there is something that can be done to give battlecreek a new season. It is enjoyable and entertaining.
Amen.
All the really good shows are being cancelled, that is because the networks are basing the fate of the show on the ratings of 20-30 year old viewers. Sorry to disagree with “Anonymous”, but their select audience will not enjoy unless there is explicit sex or violence!! I think it is time to start watching movies or perhaps reading a book. I refuse to watch the garbage that the networks are producing!!!
I truly enjoy this show. Battle Creek is suspenseful and horous. I believe showing it on a late evening spot is inconvenient for the ratings. I know people that TiVo or record it or watch it on the computer because it’s not a convenient time. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of sex / anger in the plots, so why not show it earlier? It certainly does not have sexually explicit “comedy” as Two Broke Girls. It doesn’t have the violence of the crime scene shows that are on earlier at night. Therefore, I think CBS should give it… Read more »
my husband and I really enjoy this series. I am hoping the station reconsiders. Perhaps airing on a different day or new time frame. I believe given longer exposer I believe the audience would really enjoy!
I love this show…good characters, interesting crimes, wonderful team interactions and good acting. Say it is not so…don’t cancel this show!
