CBS has had mixed success with their new crime dramas this season. NCIS: New Orleans has been renewed for a second season while Stalker has been dropped from the schedule and may likely be cancelled. What will happen to Battle Creek? Stay tuned.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: CBS has cancelled the Battle Creek series midway through its first season.
Final season averages: 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.12 million total viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I agree with comments that CBS cancels good shows too quickly. Give Battle Creek time to grow an audience.
I think Battle Creek was a good show? I enjoyed the characters personalities. Only discovered the show for the final few episodes and was looking forward to seeing a whole new season.
Loved the show bring it back
Really disappointed in CBS. I love Battle Creek. Couldn’t wait to watch it every week. Was shocked to hear it was canceled. Another favorite “Stalker” also canceled. These 2 shows are right up there with Survivor and Criminal Minds !! Love them !!
What a disappointment that “Battle Creek” has been cancelled! I watch very few of the new network shows, but this one was funny and smart, and I enjoyed it very much. CBS should have given it a little more time to find its audience. After all, M*A*S*H*, one of the most beloved and watched series of all time, had dismal ratings its first season, and look how successful it was. Ah well, back to ME TV and its reruns of fifties and sixties shows. At least there is some clean, fun entertainment..
The cancellation really surprises me. I thought it was an awesome show, and looked forward to the next episode. Maybe Netflix will pick it up.
My first comment posted several weeks ago. Nothing but compliments & accolades for Battle Creek preceded & followed my posting.. CBS continues to ignore its viewers & follow the all mighty dollar’s good ratings which bring in advertising. Yet again the viewers lose to the almighty buck instead of listening to what we want. Anyone of our lives could be based on a reality show…the last thing any of us needs or wants.
We LOVE the show. My whole family watches it and was so sad to hear that it’s cancelled. Why…?? I think Milt and Russ had a good chemistry going on. Also Josh Duhamel is so pleasing to look at 😉
I can’t believe CBS has cancelled Battle Creek. This was the best of their new shows this season.
I enjoyed the show and I hope that it do
Great show all our friends gather around to watch. Very funny and smart. Not smart to cancel. I don’t watch much tv, maybe 5-6 hours a week. That’s 5-6 one-hour shows. CBS is canceling 2of them: Battle Creek and Stalker. Both these shows should not be cancelled. Both shows have story lines that have already been done, but the chemistry of each cast, the writing and the draw to want to not miss the next show are far above the average show on tv. They work really well. I am disappointed in CBS’ decision makers who are letting other less… Read more »
I agree. Stalker and Battle Creek are the best 2 new shows that my whole family enjoy watching. Please bring back Stalker and Battle Creek!!!!
One show we finally enjoyed that was different, and not all drama, and you cancel it??!!! Back to watching old reruns, since we havent seen anything fresh that is worth watching , again! How many more sorry-ass same old thing shows are you people going to shove off on us, or should I bother looking?
Why does every decent show keep getting cancelled? Not everyone in the 18-49 age wants only reality shows. Battle Creek was a good one.
Battle Creek is a super show, has a great cast great actors and writers, nothing like all the BS reality shows,,cancelling it is a big mistake, its as good as Blue Bloods give it a chance!!!!
Please bring back Battle Creek. Give it a chance maybe on a different night.
You have a goldmine with this show but it seems that you are too nearsighted to see it. Your audience apparently sees it or you wouldn’t be receiving the number if emails that are asking to bring it back. TV is the customers tool for entertainment but the industry continues to present several versions of the same show, (ie, csi) and other lame shows with tired one liner jokes that are full of sexual innuendos. Let’s be smart leave a show on TV that is worth watching. Let the characters develop, let the show evolve into its full potential. Canceling… Read more »
Everything Les said!
Battle Creek. Too bad it was cancelled. It got richer each episode and had some human heft, So much less phony than NCIS New Orleans or the others
What does it take to keep a good program on prime-time TV these days? I am a 60-something woman who probably spends more money on products than any 18-49 year old in your target demographics.
My whole family, all consumers, watch and enjoy “Battle Creek!” Why is it that only the “dumbed-down” series with laugh-tracks, over-the-top sexual innuendoes, or ultra violent scenarios get renewed?
I’m not in the grave yet and my voice is worth listening to, thank you very much!
Well said.
