CBS has had mixed success with their new crime dramas this season. NCIS: New Orleans has been renewed for a second season while Stalker has been dropped from the schedule and may likely be cancelled. What will happen to Battle Creek? Stay tuned.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: CBS has cancelled the Battle Creek series midway through its first season.
Final season averages: 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.12 million total viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I love this show. Please don’t let CBS cancel it!
LOVE this show!!! Pleeaassee DON’T cancel!!
Like the show very much. Good chemistry, good acting. Love Dean Winters. His interest in Holly is both sad and exciting. I am just waiting for him or her to gran each other and get the party going! Need more revelations on Josh’s character.
Love the show. I hope they keep it, maybe try a better time slot.
Love Battle Creek. This show has become one of my favorites. Josh, Dean and Kal keep me laughing. I especially love it when detectives Agnew and Fontanelle try to solve crimes without Special Agent Milt Chamberlain. And of course it never works.
Battle Creek is my favorite show…please don’t cancel it!
Love this show. Delightful change from the overly serious crime shows. Keep them coming.
Battle Creek is a great show. Vince builds deep, troubled characters and no one is quite what they seem. Milt’s character hints at that from the very first episode. I really don’t think that this show deserves to be cancelled. No, this show isn’t Breaking Bad, that would be the spinoff Better Call Saul. This is a totally different show that is just as well written. How do you cancel a show that has 8 seasons of House MD and 5 Season of Breaking Bad and 169 award wins between the two producers? It just doesn’t make sense how a… Read more »
I have really become entranced with this series, Battle Creek. Rarely do I ever watch weekly TV series, but the acting and plots in this series have attracted me. I’ve watched every episode. If I am reading the data correctly this show has more viewers than its competitors in the 10:00 time slot, but most of the viewers are over 50.
Come on now this is getting a little tiring to see all my shows. Please keep this show.
Battle creek and Backstrom are my favorite shows. Both are unique and so interesting in their own way. Please don’t cancel
I love Battle Creek. It’s so funny and I love all of the characters. It had a unique take on a cop show and I love the small town setting. I really really hope that it doesn’t get cancelled because I’m dying to know what happened to Milton to get him sent to Battle Creek.
Battle Creek is a fantastic show. It saddens me that it is on the chopping block and that it is not being appreciated for the dynamic story lines are being developed. It has humor, intelligence and heart.
I like this show when I’ve seen it, but 5 times I tuned in to watch it, and the Good Wife was on, so I didn’t stay tuned. They really screwed this show scheduling it after so many flex-time sporting events etc. I originally thought they were showing an extra Good Wife episode so watched something else.
The same thing happened to me the first couple times. I dvr’d The Good Wife, (even though I don’t watch it), Battle Creek & the local news. It usually comes on at around 10:30 p.m. EST. and ends around 11:30 where the local news should be ending.
Why do networks cancel good shows?
I hope they renew this because it’s fun, entertaining, and intelligent. I love all the little details from the backstory, the way the detectives are clearly friends with each other, and to the old computers, non-working water cooler, to the ‘original art’ that’s in Milt’s office. Most shows don’t bother with the details. I love that this one does.
