CBS has had mixed success with their new crime dramas this season. NCIS: New Orleans has been renewed for a second season while Stalker has been dropped from the schedule and may likely be cancelled. What will happen to Battle Creek? Stay tuned.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: CBS has cancelled the Battle Creek series midway through its first season.
Final season averages: 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.12 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Battle Creek is a fantastic show! Great cast and story line. I cannot believe they would cancel it. I could see NCIS New Orleans, or Big Brother getting the Axe, but not Battle Creek!
TV Executives are fu**ing morons!
Please do not cancel “Battle Creek”; it’s one of our favorite shows. We especially love Dean Winter. He’s hysterically funny; a wonderful actor. And the writing is great. PLEASE GIVE “BATTLE CREEK” ANOTHER SEASON!!
Stop! Do Not Cancel ‘Battle Creek’! It is one of the Best New Shows!
All the actors are great! Save the Show!
Cancelling Battle Creek?!! But keeping Survivor and Big Brother?!! Reality TV is so lame with wanna be actors acting like knuckleheads. It is just so over done. How about a real program with real actors like… oh… maybe… Battle Creek? What kind of ADD moron is in charge of keeping and cancelling shows? How many episodes did you give it before making this decision, 8-9? No one can even find a decent show in that amount of time, especially on Sunday night. Two shows I watched in CBS: Battle Creek and The McCarthy’s. Both cancelled. Well, I no longer need… Read more »
I agree..how can you make a choice after so lottle time…its silly
Please do not cancel this show. It actually has a plot and characters with some depth. It has humor and pathos. It has romance and detective work. It has friendship, envy, and love. Give this show a chance. Put it on a different night, and it will thrive. If you have to cancel something, cancel one of those horrible reality shows.
I really wish I knew who was in charge of canceling shows. Battlecreek and Backstrom are GREAT shows. CANNOT believe that you are canceling both. I give up on watching t.v anymore so many STUPID shows are left on the air (very disappointing).
Just “lost” Backstrom – if Battle Creek goes, the hip detective drama is doomed.
OH Please.. BY ALL means Keep Big Brother for the Lame idiots and cancel this show that Might take a bit if thought.. Every show that requires any amount of thought or attention longer than 30 seconds is cancelled and you Wonder why the world is filled with folks with ADD? THIS kind of back and forth TV short season… long weeks between episodes.. renewed no ..cancelled …. not ending shows but just bumping them off.. You people need to get a grip.. stick with something for more than a month .. give things a chance.. OTHER THAN reality TV..… Read more »
Of course Big Brother stays – Julie Chen is married to the President of CBS. I absolutely agree with everything you said.
I TOTALLY agree with you. I watch very little network TV, but loved the original premise of Battle Creek. So-called reality TV is not for me. It is nice to know others feel the same.
of course Big Brother is still on the air – the host is married to the head of the network. I agree with everything you’ve said.
Really, really enjoy this show but felt from the beginning that the time slot
would prevent it from getting more exposure. Difficult to follow MADAM
SECRETARY and GOOD WIFE. Move to different day and time and I
think it will do well.
Concerning Battle Creek it is refreshing to see at least one detective show with a some humor and not just blood and guts or full of crazies that keeps you up all night after watching. There isn’t many shows left for us to watch and enjoy any more so I hope you will reconsider and not cancel this show. I do agree with Norma that maybe just change when it is aired.
i love this show. I love seeing the personality quirks of the two stars being revealed
Keep Battle Creek on………..one of the few good newer tv series….Dean Winters is terrific…keep it on!
I love this show, looking forward to see what happens next. Don’t know how am going to feel about Ben dyeing.
I love this show! The characters are unique and the writing is really good. Love the funny quips built into the drama. I like that it’s not so serious that it get depressing like most other crime shows. My favorite new show. Please keep it going. (I was hesitant to get into another new show, but when I saw Josh Duhamel talk about it on The Tonight Show I decided to give it a chance – so glad I did!)
DO NOT CANCEL BATTLE CREEK!!!
