Fans of Blue Bloods can expect a lot more family dinner scenes at the Reagan household. CBS has just renewed the family police drama for a seventh season which will air as part of the 2016-17 television season.
A staple of Friday nights, Blue Bloods revolves around the Irish-American Reagan family and their work as part of the NYPD. The cast includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson, Sami Gayle, Vanessa Ray, Nicholas Turturro, and Marisa Ramirez.
The 17 episodes that have aired as part of the (current) sixth season have averaged a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.57 million viewers.
That’s down slightly from last year’s averaged but Blue Bloods continues to do well for the network, especially considering its 10pm on Fridays timeslot. It’s currently CBS’ fourth most-watched scripted series (behind NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, and NCIS: New Orleans).
Today, the network announced 2016-17 season renewals of 10 other shows as well — 2 Broke Girls, The Amazing Race, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Mom, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, and Survivor.

Tom Selleck is one of the finest actors and I love the rest of the cast. I felt extremely sad when I heard that Blue Blooks was not going to be renewed. So now will there be NEW episodes of Blue Bloods or is the political garbage still only allowing reruns. If they are only reruns you all are losing out.
Often when shows finish their 6th season, their story lines start, or already have begun to be stale and predictable. But not Blue Bloods! Each episode has gotten better and better and with a perfect cast to perform in the show. It exemplifies a real police family dealing with crime, law and many issues of the City of New York. This show goes beyond many shows that have preceded it by showing life on their jobs and personal and professional concerns of everyday life at home. Blue Bloods is a great series that shows how difficult police work can be.
In today’s uncertain times we must remember those that enforce the law and the resistance they face daily. Too many modern dramas feature the bad guys as misunderstood heroes…which is just plain wrong. Keep Blue Bloods on the air, thanks!

It’s a really good show. I enjoy watching it. Love Tom Selleck. Watched him on Magnum PI loved him in that too. He is absolutely just about the best looking man I’ve seen since Jack Lord (original Hawaii 5O) and I was in love with that guy.

I like the show and all the actors involved, I have purchased all of the series from 1 thru 6 and waiting for 7. I work nights and sleep evenings so its really great when I can when I can watch at my convenience. hope the show continues. thanks to all involved for a great show
